Question about normals

If you play a normal game with mostly bronze and silver players, can you get placed against a plat 2 player? Me and my friends just wanted to play a game then a plat 2 trynd player dominated us solo

Sometimes there are outliers, can't really describe it any other way. I had an ARAM match the other day where we had a Master player on our team (I'm Silver)

Normals and ranked have independent MMRs, so low rank players may still have medium-high normals MMR (e.g. if they play a lot of normals and/or do so on their main champs/roles), and high rank players may have low-medium normals MMR (e.g. they mostly play ranked and/or play off main role/champs).

So yeah, you can have any mix of ranks in a normals game, even if everyone was queueing solo. (And since theres no restrictions on who you can queue with in a normal, things can get really spicy even if peoples normals MMR's actually were representitive of their ranked ability.)
