Because why the hell not ? Champions tend to have more and more passives, and i really think that if Lux procs her actual light passive on a target two times in a row (Q auto E auto) the target should be blinded by all that light for a brief duration. Would separate THE GOOD LUX and the BAD LUX.
If not, you could always make her laugh global if she is on a killing spree and louder the more kills she gets.

They could do something with her shield perhaps and either make her more supportive or more of a mid laner but I firmly believe that Lux stands a good place amongst the mid laners.

Her passive is like 30% of her DPS, it scales with AP and leveling and it's huge. If you compare a Lux doing a Q>E>R combo to a Lux doing a Q>auto>E>ult (because it also procs the light) it's absolutely not the same thing.
That would actually make people do that mechanic and fit her kit amazingly since once again, light blinds and it's obvious than the stack you put on the ennemy is straight on his face.
Prospector Pete1 votesI'm talking about consistent attacking. She isn't going to keep attacking you like a Vayne would, she's going to be mainly focused on abilities with only 1 or 2 auto attacks in the mix.

In the laning phase, sure. When you start dealing with all out teamfights it's often too risky for her to try and AA so she'll pop the mark with her ult.
