As a top lane main, I still think Rift Herald is not worth fighting (suggested some changes)

At bot lane, they get to have the priority of securing the Dragon on their side, where they can have the buff for themselves & the team such as:

  • bonus AD & AP.
  • Bonus out of combat movement speed.
  • Bonus true damage on epic monster & towers.
  • Bonus HP & mana regeneration.

And what does Rift Herald has? Bonus damage on first AA which only recharges if no other teammates are nearby. Including the fact that Rift Herald still packs quite a punch to defeat, the buff to me seems kinda useless mainly as a player who plays Tank/Juggernaut champions like Darius Sion Illaoi, or sometimes ranged tops (had to prepare myself with this scumbag pick due to Gnars, Kennen & Teemo rising picks) like Ryze .

So here's my suggestion. Rather than giving any top or jungle players the debuff for bonus damage on first AA, how about if they gain a bonus debuff depending on which stat is the highest? Generally speaking, if his AD is the highest he gains this certain buff. Or if his AP is being the highest, he gains the other buff. Typically speaking, it's like the process of how Tyrogue evolves to Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee or Hitmontop (only Pokemon fans understands this :p).

There are 4 key stats which are prioritized for the newly suggested Rift Herald buff: AD, AP, Armor & Magic Resist.

  • If his AD stats are the highest, the owner deals bonus damage on his first AA, which recharges by moving around similar to Yasuo. (Yep, this is a "sub-par" or original Rift Herald)

  • If his AP stats are the highest, casting abilities which hits & damages enemies will grants a burst of movement speed which decays over 1.5 seconds. (An AP version of Phage)

  • If his Armor stats are the highest, enemies attacking the user will gain a Bleed effect which prolongs for 2 seconds. (Hello Rammus O.o)

  • If his Magic Resist stats are the highest, the owner gains 5% tenacity for each enemy champions nearby. (In case of going against double AP lane who has a bunch of CCs like Ryze/Vladimir or typically any mid/top laners with Rylais)

So there you have it. With these changes, the Rift Herald debuffs can be diversed among any champions being played at either top or jungle, or if they're generous enough to grant it to other laners. Hope everyone likes the idea.

Are you kidding me? 5% reduced damage and a passive extra 15-270 magic damage on your next auto isn'g good enough? Not even if it lasts 20 minutes? That's a godlike buff.

Kassadin Urgot gets 15% reduced damage for the whole game but no one gives a shit to these guys.

Picking the champion with the weakest laning phase in the game or the most boring, most ugly, 0 skill cap champion is comparable to being able to get a buff on any champion in the game how?

Also I looove playing Kassadin. Just wish they'd bring back the damage absorbed by his passive increasing his attack speed, that was fun.

I agree that the Rift Herald needs to be updated/changed/replaced

I posted somewhere before, where I asked to replace it with a another dragon pit. but that's a longer more argumentative story.
