Eh if that's how it came off that wasn't the intention - it was mostly just to show how badly one group of people got screwed over another. My main point was to say I don't envy his position with this many disgruntled players who now hate him. I'm sure that if LB's winrate dropped as much as Akali's did, you can be certain that r/LeBlancmains would be seething and out for blood too. Anyone would act the same if their own champ got dumpstered like Akali did.
It's not a matter of 'hey guys look at them!', it's more like let's try to figure out a more civil way to get our point across. There are topics on the LB forum that call out the dude responsible there as well, when there is a team behind the changes, not a single person. I want to believe that all of the people who worked on the assassin update were forced to work under strict guidelines - i.e. the champ's main damage must be gated behind some kind of delay, and the mobility of all of the assassin champions has to be neutered.
Everyone who got changed is upset because the people who actually play the champions didn't get any input on the changes - they just did whatever they felt like for the benefit of ADCs. If I came off as holier than thou, then I apologize, and I think that eventually we as assassin players need to come together and demonstrate that having this entire game revolve around ADCs and -ONLY- ADCs is unacceptable.
I can see your point, in how rickless in a sense is almost the scapegoat in this mess. As you say he was likely working under guidelines as were the other devs working on assassins for the assassin rework, so there's more blame to go around. That said he isn't blameless, he had a hand in this mess.
I agree this gating of damage, not just on akali but on the other assassins as well, primarily benefits adcs. As assassins keep adc's in check like scissors to paper. Indeed you can see a trend where Riot has across the board (except maybe w/ rengar and kha) reduced or delayed up front damage of assassins and tried to compensate for it in other ways. (talon can jump over walls! akali has a gimmicky blink in her shroud! wow!). I think its safe to say the respective communities feel wholly unsatisfied with these compensating elements. Furthermore it is telling that in these reworks "not intended as nerfs" the winrates of these champions have plummeted. This indicates Riot swung and missed.
I think there's also a fair amount of frustration stemming from Riot's reluctance to admit when they've made mistakes. Hell it took an entire season of the entire playerbase bitching about the changes to ranked for Riot to bring back solo/duo q and even then they won't admit they were wrong.
I agree the various assassin communities best course of action is to band together so our voices will be louder, so we can make riot hear us. Not issue death threats or take actions that will get us ignored.
