@Riot Can we talk about Shen?

From What i've seen. A lot of Pre-shens that quit Shen in general, He just looks fancy now.

I love his kit. But frankly it doesnt quite do the job. Hes not a tank, Hes not an assassin, Hes not a support, Hes just stuck in the middle.

His taunt? Its great it really is. But what good is having one CC as a tank if people can Literally ignore your freaking damage with EMPOWERED Qs I dont want shen to have asssasin damage. I dont want Shen to 100-0 Anybody.

47-55 with an Empowered Q.

Now i know people are going to say ''hes a tank! hes not supposed to do damage''

Problem is hes not a tank.

People said it themself. His great ult isnt an excuse to have such a lackluster Q-W-E.

If we're going to make Shen he has to have something reliable I just dont see it

Shens damage is great with a titanic hydra. Problem is its an expensive item and you cant just always go buy it unless youre super ahead.

I just dont agree with the rework Shen in particular because he has no niche. In team fights yeah his ult can save someone but so can a Nautilus peeling for an ADC while naut went top.

I do not like where he stands and i do think he needs some sort of buffs.

His damage is fine. He did almost half that Zed's health despite the fact that he had no damage items built and Zed actually had a hexdrinker against all of his magic damage. That's what I'd expect out of a tank champion with an incredible amount of utility.

The one who was two levels behind, didn't fully charge his E, didn't have a charged Q, and is playing a champion that isn't expected to contribute a lot of damage early in the game before he gets items?

Shen dealt half of Zed's health with 3 auto attacks. Vladimir dealt 1/4 of Zed's health with a partially charged E, a regular Q, no ult, and a couple sad auto attacks.

Taunt did 89 damage The first hit had Grasp of the undying increasing the magical damage to 74 89 + (74+55) + (47+55)x2 = 422 from your abilities and autos 5 sunfire ticks x 19 damage = 95 damage 517 damage total.

Zed's starting hp: 1200 ending hp: 400 damage taken: 800

Shen dealt more than half the damage in that exchange, thus he dealt more than Vladimir.

517 Does not equal half.

And lets talk about SHENS damage.

No sunfire or grasp = 370 damage with Empowered Q Thats nautilus Riptide buddy.

Even with grasp and sunfire. They will not eat any sunfire damage

You see that 16 second cooldown on Shens ONLY cc? Yeah thats pretty fuckin rough.

517 damage with sunfire + grasp + 3 Empowered Qs while zed has 1200 health

So that means i have to do that combo 3 times to kill him

Meanwhile Nautilus/rammas/zac and nearly every other tank with MORE cc can do double that damage.

Point is Shen doesnt fit into anything.

He fits into pro team comps pretty often. More often than the three champs you named.

He wasent even played by different people those 8 games. He was picked by the same player twice

Also, Look at his score in every game. Hes only had 1 game where he didnt feed a lane / go negative

Im just being honest from playing shen over 100 times i can say hes subpar - decent but not remotely viable

What's the proof?

Shen, a champion with a ton of utility, dealing more damage in a gank than a champion that's only picked for his damage output?

Shen being a regular pick in pro play and performing adequately?

Shen's winrate in normal games that's almost directly down the center of balanced?

All you have left is your personal, unprofessional opinion that Shen deserves vague buffs because you stopped climbing the ladder after you had been climbing the ladder for a while, which is a thing that happens to every player on any champion at some point due to a magical number called "MMR".

EVEN IN WHICH he was in 8 out of 80 games. This isnt EVEN THE CURRENT SPLIT

Yes, it does, it always has. Shen has always had a lackluster kit with poor damage and mediocre durability except for his amazing ult that made up for the rest.

As an avid Shen player, I love him, he is in a great spot, he can support amazingly, and is an effective top laner in the right matchups. (Also an amazing split push if you build him for it). He can completely neutralize AA's in an AOE form. Has percent health damage, and a life saving ult.

I mean this is my first season, so I can't compare to any reworks, I picked him up when he was FTP and he's been a rock in my champ pool since. I feel like he has a niche, and is amazing in certain conditions, just like any champ. I see him as a late game super tank, that can get to the back lane and chunk a carry, and can allow his damage dealers a chance to chunk everyone while the enemy tries to peel. I also see him as someone who can split very well with TP and his ult. I'm sorry if this wasn't what you were looking for, I just gave my input.
