There needs to be a heavy penalty for giving up in ranked.

The current mentality in ranked is disgusting, a lot of players would just give up half way through the game for no good reason. The team isn't losing but if they don't feel like playing they'd just stop. No teamfights, no objectives, they just walk around base and sometimes kill one minion so the automatic afk system doesn't detect them. Reports doesn't do anything because they haven't said anything toxic and if they get banned it doesn't matter because everyone in this game has backup smurf accounts. Riot needs to set up a system where it detect these passive aggressive players and lump them together in the same que so they can deal with each other's bullshit allowing people who wants to play actually play the game.

Ranked kind of already does that. It lumps all of the high elo players together where open mid is highly encouraged. Meanwhile, it lumps all of the low elo players together where they continue to drag out games far longer than justified for absolutely no reason.

The problem is that there is always a middle ground where there are players who aren't quiet smart enough to know when to open mid but also not quiet dumb enough drag out every game.

And there's also players who aren't smart enough to know a 7-8 score doesn't mean it's GG.

Highly, highly, highly disagree with this response.

I rarely give up when things look bleak and I have won PLENTY of games because of it. Okay if they are ahead by 20+ kills, 5+ towers, have a fed vayne, etc. Then yea even I am gonna ff. But if they even are 10 kills ahead and 3 towers ahead. I will still play the game because people throw ALL the time.

That's what I'm trying to say. But I've noticed at least half of my losses are because of people giving up mid game. One of my most recent game was because our top laner and jungle decides to afk half way through the match when the score was 21-23 and we were losing by just one turret. I was fed, our adc was fed, our support knew how to peel, but nope, because they're 2-4 they think the game is unwinnable and give up then. I don't care if they pull that shit in normals but it's unacceptable in ranked.

If we're getting stomped 0-20, I'm all for ff but not when we're literally one or two kills behind.

Yea to be honest, I don't understand people who tilt that easily. Also not sure how they climb.

I just had a match like that, passive aggressive allies who have no score but won't farm lane, won't work together to make a strategy. Nothing you say to them will work even if it's mostly positive, advice, or talking about objective control. You can't really help them because they aren't doing anything to start and they don't understand that even say you are 7/2 if the team score is 12/13 in the enemy team's favor, they need to farm and shit so they can remain relevant. A lot of these people start the early game talking shit about their allies and bming the enemy instead of playing as well and then end up failing hard. Rather than picking themselves up and farming or trying to participate or trying to ward or trying to work on map pressure, they just follow the person who has the most kills and hopes that even though they do no damage, contribute nothing and are dividing the experience by 5 for that person that they will carry anyway. They don't listen to pings so they often get caught and it's like they are on drugs or something. I mean it literally I've looked though these people's matches and it's not like they play that way all the time. just on matches where they are doing bad, which just so happens to be matches I am in and am doing alright in.

This actually happens more in gold elo than in silver and in bronze elo. I've been in all of those elos this season. Gold is filled with people just like what you are talking about. But what's worse is that sometimes they don't want to FF the match either when they literally won't play. So you have to suffer the next 30 mins watching them do nothing at all.

There should be a heavy penalty for feeding then.

A five-year-old can get around an ip ban.

another ranked game lost because someone gave up 10 minutes in and refused to play the game. I wish it was s2-s3 at least people tried in that season.
