yeah, but can you not buff volibear please?

this is currently what's on the pbe:

Volibear Thunder Claws (R) [Looks like it might have significant changes here - looks like there is initial damage now] Tooltip: "Volibear channels the storm and erupts chain lightning from his body, striking up to 4 nearby enemies with 75/115/155 (+0.3 AP) magic damage. For the next 12 seconds, the storm empowers Volibear, causing his basic attacks to deal 75/115/155 (+0.3 AP) bonus magic damage that chains to 4nearby enemies."

first, a credibility check. at the time of posting this i have a 64% winrate with volibear over the course of 47 games. this can be confirmed here. it'd definitely be higher if i was still interested in playing ranked this season.

tl;dr: this buff does a lot more than it looks like it does on paper.

volibear is an extremely strong champion when he can put himself in situations where he's in the enemy's face -- obviously not a secret. in exchange for this, volibear is all but useless when he's not in melee range of an enemy champion. while this buff doesn't exactly mask that weakness by any stretch of the imagination, i urge you to take a second look at volibear's level 6 gank potential because, quite frankly, it's insane.

the chain lightning effect from thunder claws is capable of securing kills from insane range. i've actually killed someone that was on the other side of a wall by autoattacking a foe that was peeling me off of them by having the lightning bounce to them. given the way volibear's attack speed ramps up over the course of an extended fight, this skill already does an insane amount of raw damage if volibear is allowed to continuously attack for the duration of the ultimate.

q: so what makes this buff significant if the lightning only hits once? a: the fact of the matter is, volibear's ult has some of the highest potential damage while building full tank that i've ever seen. this buff, although tiny, adds random, unneeded power to a skill that's already extremely strong. volibear is in a great spot right now and doesn't need any help to be in a greater one. i really hope you look this change over, riot.
