Is Norm Solo Queue Matching Random?

So in Norms, do you get matched with anyone lvl 30, or does it depend on their tr / mmr?

if so, what will happen when ranked closes?

Or does it all just rely on how many norms you win

Ranked and Normals have septate MMR. Generally if someone plays a lot of Ranked they don't spend as much time on Normals, resulting in a lower MMR.

Not everyone will stop playing Ranked just because the season ends. The queue is still open for people to play in the preseason.

ranked doesn't close, the season ends and ranked play continues with the pre-season update.

the reason to do ranked during this period is to boost your MMR so you get placed better at the start of the season.

MMR in normals works the same as ranked you just don't take notice of it due to it not visually being the same, ultimately same tiers of play but the ques can chuck a plat in with a bronze to speed up the que for example.

There is, you can continue to play the ranked que in pre season in order to increase your MMR to get placed higher next season (unless they hard reset) they leave the ranked ques open so you can play with people at he same MMR (skill level)

I.e challengers play challengers, diamonds play diamonds etc.

Think of it like this;

Season6 ------------- season6 end / pre season open ------------- season7 ranked patch + MMR reset / ques close ------------- season7 opens with placement games and your new MMR.

There is two types of resets on MMR they do;

Hard reset: everyone's MMR is reduced to or increased to the same number I.e. 1500

Soft reset; your rounded up or down to the nearest leagues/divisions MMR.

So say you have 500mmr after end of season if you don't play the ranked que you'll start your placements with 500 MMR and he placed in bronze.

If you increased your MMR to 670 say they wouldnround it up to the nearest division so say B1 is 500mmr and s2 is 1500 MMR they will then round your 670 pre season MMR up to 700/800 + depending on the divisions break point and you would be placed around s5/s4

This you have successfully increased your standing and MMR in the pre season.
