What is the point of ranked reset every season?

What is the FUCKING point of working your ass off to get to X rank, only to have rank reset every season, so you grind through the same BULLSHIT you grinded out of?

I'm fucking done. I WILL NOT play through Bronze and Silver again.

It just makes sooo much sense to reset the balance of everyone's rank for no good reason. (sarcasm)

They are soft resets. It isn't "you are now Bronze/Silver", it's "Your rank has been reset and mmr lowered, but your rank from last season is taken in consideration". Yes, you will be placed lower. Yes, you will have a climb a bit. That is the entire point of ranked resets; you have to climb a bit. If you can't climb back up to your old rank, you probably deserve where you now are.

At least you can play. I've been unable to play the past couple of days because of massive packet loss disconnecting me from the game every two minutes. I'll gladly switch positions anytime.

I wouldn't mind the ranking reset much if series weren't full of trolls and pain. I swear when you enter series they want you to carry with 3 backpacks on your shoulders. I thought league was a team game? Why do you force me to carry in every series? I say this because I swear the avg MMR of the team mates I get stuck with in series is at least 3 tiers below what I should be while the other team isn't as badly affected.
