Kalista Stacking Spears

So when Twitch was reworked I bought him and learned him just for fun. And his Contaminate can only stack up to 5 times. Wich made, and still makes, perfect sense, or he would just just ult and stack so much he could delete everyone in one Contaminate, or deal more damage than a smite to dragons and Barons.

Makes sense right?

Then, later, Riot comes out with Kalista, and they apparenlty thought it would be a good idea to just not put a cap on the spears she could stack. For the purposes of this this post, I won't sit here and list all the other broken aspects of her kit, which is insanely overloaded, but just sit here and wonder why Riot thought it would be a good idea to let her have a higher damage than smite on objectives. Let alone what happens when she get Runaan's Hurricane and then Rends a teamfight. Like, the cap on Twitch makes perfect sense, why does it not exist on Kalista?!

THIS. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED!!! IT MAKES NO SENSE, IT DOES SO MUCH DAMAGE!!

Same. Why make a cap on something that has the potential to deal loads of damage on one, but then turn around and make it so that another champ's stack can just keep going as they attack? Once kalista gains enough attack speed, that's it. She's got the upper hand.

Her rend is really her only damage boost. While Twitch's passive also does DoT damage, and he get bonus AS on his Q. Literally her rend makes up for having any Damage or AS steroid.

Also her Rend stacks giving her good objective control is a perfectly acceptable advantage that she can have. (especially when she lacks single target damage.)

I would honestly say that Twitch's DoT is almost negligible. I mean, it only really does something if you survive with like 30hp... and good objective control is one thing, but better objective control than the jungler? On top of that, it would seem to me that that her insane mobility is her strong aspect already...

how do the spears exactly work? i know they last up to 4 seconds, which would put a cap on the number of spears depending on the global 2.5 attack speed cap.

meaning she can get up to 5 attacks off in 2 seconds at maximum. meaning she can lodge 10 spears total into her target, before the first spear starts vanishing.

or does it count as a stack and the 4 seconds refresh with each new spear?

if its the first case, it honestly doesnt bother me as much as the blasted slow that is attached to the nuke. she can already kite like crazy with her passive, and the cooldown on rend is not very long. i dont understand why she gets a slow on top of it.

It does refresh the 4 seconds at every spear. The stack only resets if she doesn't attack you for 4 seconds, but has no cap to how many spears she can stack.

As a Lv5Kalista player i can say, this her only way of dealing damage is using her E (Rend) and on top of that she needs to stack it to make a use of the spell while having no steroids like Twitch in comparison..so i find it kinda fair that Kalista can have it up to a higher amount of stacks than Twitch which also deals true damage, making early trades with him extremely hard..

Put a cap on her rend stacks that is directly dependent upon her attack speed. She builds tons of it anyway so problem solved. Something like a 5 stack starting cap and then an additional 1 stack per 0.4 attack speed is what I'm thinking.

Actually, there's a cap. It's 254 spears :D
