Who the Fuck Plays Dominion
Who the fuck plays dominion? The same people who play timed mode in ssb?

I'd LOVE to play Dominion again. I miss it so much. But the FUCKTARDS who work at Riot OCE decided "eh, we don't need to bother enabling Dominion queues on the OCE server", the same way they decided "eh, we can shut down Draft Normal and force everyone who prefers draft to play nothing but ranked" and "eh, they won't mind if we don't bother enabling Twisted Treeline" so I can't.
1.6k games on dominion :D
People who want to pvp in a pvp game instead of pve grinding against endless waves of mindless AI?
After playing quite a bit of Dominion, going back to Rift feels like you're playing in slow motion. In Dominion, there's always an objective to contest right now. There's no farming or faffing about the map trying to catch someone out of position so you can actually accomplish something important.
Dominion also lacks Rift's caustically awful player base because unlike Rift, the map design doesn't encourage a defeatist attitude. It's a team game right from the gate, there's no lane phase where one guy can lose the whole game for you. Because games don't snowball, they aren't over until they're over. You can't coast your way to victory, you have to consistently out-play the enemy team which means comebacks are always possible. That never-say-die attitude translates into less finger-pointing and more buckling down to win 400 to 40 comebacks.
And since the only necessity regarding team compositions is having someone who can hold bottom lane, that means Dominion has a vastly wider selection of team compositions that are viable compared to Rift's cookie-cutter bullshit. This in turn means there's less bitching about not getting a specific lane position and more playing the game.
So why play Dominion?
Because you want to play a well balanced, healthy, strategically diverse, fast-paced, PvP focused map.
Why play Rift?
Because you enjoy one-sided stomps and molesting minions, I guess.
Ya know, people who like fast paced games where you're constantly in fights.
It was fun for a while, and if it weren't bot-infested I would play it occasionally. I think if it were a limited time mode, it would see more demand and get more play. But I don't think too many people would complain if it left forever.
It crops up in amateur tourneys from time to time, too, now that I think about it. But that's basically it.
official SSB tournaments usually have a 5 minute timer.
Dominoes is fine from time to time, I enjoy that it's a game where the team fighting starts right out of the gate.
I mainly started playing it when I needed to rack up a bunch of wins on pre-rework Poppy. At the time Dominion rounded out all the weaknesses she had in other game modes (increased mana regen with health packs for even more sustain, starting out right at level 3 and giving a ton of ambient xp and gold to skip most of her terrible early levels, starting out with team fights instead of having to deal with her awful laning) as well as being a map where a random charge is more likely to wall slam than not (which is still true and makes new Poppy quite strong on the mode)
I generally go back to Dominion when I want to rack up wins on a champion quickly when I think they'll perform poorly on TT and I don't want to play a longer game on SR.
Sona is really easy to get wins on Dominoes Diana is OK but not great Evelynn is absolutely terrible and i had to switch to playing TT with her. I think she used to be good when backdooring was stronger but it's been nerfed so heavily that she can't do that any more and she really has no good opportunities to gank, plus the jungle area of the map is so twisty and confined with bushes everywhere that there's almost no situation where her stealth actually helps her out. Generally any time she's far enough away there's a corner that would prevent the opponent from seeing her anyways, and when she turns a corner there's an enemy right there that immediately destroys her.
I like the music, and wish there was ranked for it. It's fun but not worth the million yer Q time because nobody plays it:(
