Why Does No One Take Greater Quints Of Armor?

They give 4.26 armor which seems pretty good to me, especially because armor is op early game. All together they give 13 armor, while seals only give 9. I took armor quints, and scaling armor seals, so at level 1 i had +15 armor, and at level 18 +40 armor from runes.

I tried it on Wukong in a custom and his first clear actually wasn't god awful even without a leash, which if you've ever jungled Wukong you know how bad his first clear is.

I also took Alistar into a custom game and he could clear pretty well with them. You might say his first clear was rough, but even then that's not really the case, his first couple camps were slightly rough, but it was easy after that, and keep in mind this was without a leash, with a leash his clears would be strong.

Solo'd dragon at level 8 with only cinderhulk, could have definitely done it at 6.

Not advocating Jungle Alistar, just demonstrating what a difference Armor Quints made.

Also at level 9 I solo'd Rift herald with Alistar with just Cinderhulk and Tabi and still had a 3rd of my HP, had to use ult and both smite charges to do it. I'm not saying it was the runes that made it possible, but it happened.

I do on my support page, gives me 18 armour and more AD than most ADCs at level 1 so I can go ham early :P

Because other quints are more important. On Wukong, for example, you are better off using AD quints. Most champions with AP scalings will take better advantage of AP quints. Immobile champions may see movement speed quintessences to be an appealing alternative. Cooldown reduction reliant champions will even see CDR per level quints as really appealing.

The only moment where armor quints are viable is on full tanks which do not need the offensive power from AD or AP quints and do not mind being slow therefore do not need movement speed quintessences.

As a Tank support you do. My Braum has Armor greater quins. Easy lane.

On Rammus, I use Armor Quints, Seals, and Marks to get a total of 30 bonus armor from runes. Then, with Masteries, it's about 31.5-47.25 bonus armor.
