How could this be overlooked? No one (or at least, no one in the pro scene) plays Veigar as a mid laner. He is a support. These Veigar changes would be like if you updated Maokai so that he is a jungler rather than a top laner.

The only reason he was a 'support' is because of his stun. I welcome the changes.
Umm Maokai was actually a jungler, just that the Koreans or w/e thinks the situational lane looks a lil more fun.
Should go watch C9 vs TiP and see why the changes are necessary.
Veigar was fully intended as a midlane mage. The fact he isn't speaks to his problems as a champion. If these changes bring him back to the midlane they've done their job 110%.
And just so you know Maokai was a jungler long before he was used in lane. I would have no qualms seeing him return as a prominent tanky jungler.
