Any tricks for Viktor?

Weathered··2 votes·663 views

I'm just learning Viktor, and I've gotten builds and play style etc (hell, my last game which was my third total I went 16/3/11 or something).

What are some tricks for him, like things you normally didn't know he could do? One that I've noticed is that his E gives vision, so I've been using it sparingly to scout a bush in the late game when mana isn't as much of a prob.

P.S His Q is not an auto attack reset, which I had assumed it was. Was it at one time?

Idk if this is something you know already or not, but Spellblade is his friend. All of the Sheen items work very well with his Q (you probably knew that), but did you know that the AOE slow from Iceborn Gauntlets will work even if you have Lich Bane or Trinity Force? The bonus damage will take priority in order as follows item 3078 -> item 3100 -> item 3025 -> item 3057 This makes stacking them actually quite viable

Huh. I knew spellblade was good, but I guess it makes sense since the Iceborn passive AOE is unique.

Also his Q has AD scaling... AD Viktor? xD

Try item 3025 and item 3100

80 AP 65 Armor 7% Movement Speed 750 Mana 30% CDR

The AOE slow will help him stick to targets, and 75% base AD + 50% additional bonus damage becomes 20/40/60/70/100 + (100 Total AD) (+75% Base AD) (+100% AP)

Better for damage in general, as Viktor normally builds mostly AP, and his Hex Core gives him AP per level

Or for a more utility build, try item 3025 and item 3078

25 Attack Damage 65 Armor 20% Critical Strike Chance 15% Attack Speed 5% Movement Speed 250 Health 750 Mana 30% CDR

You are even more sticky with the AOE slow AND Rage passive (basic attacks +20 flat move speed, kills +60), which also synergizes well with Viktor's upgraded Q, which grnats 30% bonus movement speed for 2.5 seconds.

20/40/60/70/100 + (100 Total AD) (+200% Base AD) (+50% AP)

Btw, Viktor's Base AD is 52 to 103 or 52 + 3 per level

Also remember that the shield that Q provides scales on 8% of his maximum mana pool. Both combinations provide 750 Mana. His base mana is 324 to 1174 or 324 + 30 per level. Your Hexcores give 10/15/20/25 per level based on their respective upgrade. that is 180/270/360/450 additional at level 18 based on their respective upgrades. So 1174 + 750 + 450 = 2374 mana 2374 x .08 = 198.92 (+ 15% AP) shield

I have always wanted to try AD Viktor, but I never really get around to it.

Have you tried using Q, then holding onto the empowered auto until just before the Q cooldown comes off, then auto-q-auto?

Is the cooldown that low at max rank or do you need cdr? Thanks I'll try that.

The empowered auto lasts for 3.5s, while the cooldown for Q starts immediately. Q's cooldown is 8/7/6/5/4, so you can do it at max rank, or earlier if you have cooldown.

Was just playing around with AD Viktor in bots (didn't want to go to PVP without seeing how it feels first), it's kinda weak tbh. Unfortunately either damage or mana is going to be a problem until late-mid to late game. Unfortunately bot games tend to end well before that. It might be interesting to take into PVP, but you will need to play pretty safe early on.

There's only one AD ratio I think, and it's only 100% AD, so really other than his Q and some better farming it's probably pretty useless compared to AP xD

You're the one that mentioned it my friend.

I had never tried it before so I figured I would give it a shot for fun. However, it is a pretty fair trade off between the damage from AP to AD for the damage on your Q, and the added utility that you get from a lot of AD items is pretty useful. The worst part is that there aren't but one, maybe two AD items that work well with flat mana for his shield, or even mana sustain. However, if you keep in mind that your enemy can build MR against full AP Viktor and cut your burst down pretty hard. AD Viktor deals physical damage with his auto attacks, and his Q converts his next auto attack into pure magic damage. In order to effectively cut both damage sources down efficiently is going to prevent them from having much damage themselves. Also, AP Viktor only really has his E as a reliably consistent damage source. Trade that for auto attacks and you aren't doing too bad after all. His W is really just a stun, and is useful no matter what. His ultimate is what really hurts as AD vs AP. It is not useless, but you'll have very little AP to work with.

Is AP Viktor stronger and more reliable? Oh hell yes, of course! Is AD Viktor something you can throw at somebody to confuse the hell out of them, and maybe even beat them. Yeah, I think so.
