Items that should be looked at for the Marksman update

Here are some items I think need to be looked over. They have problems that need to be fixed tbh.

item 3172 - Zephyr

This item isn't really bought, even after being full build it's not bought to replace boots. There isn't really a need to replace boots. It just doesn't give enough especially for it's cost. I think this item and another item needs to be combined together to fix it's problem.

item 3139 - Mercurial Scimitar

This item costs way too much gold. It's usually bought last while you have QSS, and that's way too long of a wait to get it. Zephyr what I mentioned before is the item that I think should be combined with this item. I think if done correctly you can fix Zephyr, and this item's problems. I just don't think 2 things that serve a similar purpose should exist at the same time. One will always be the better choice aka this item.

item 3004 - Manamune

This item is built on probably only 4 champions. I feel like this item should be easier to stack, but still take a while. I think it should hold more charges to autoattack instead of just having 2, have like 3 or 4 imo. This way other ADCs who might want the item other than Ezreal can stack it. This makes it a lot easier and more reasonable on other Marksman.

I honestly find Manamune pretty useful. It might need some tweaks, but it's honestly not its fault that it isn't played. There are just not that many AD champions that spam spells.

Other items that need work are: item 3508 (Less use than Manamune in the same niche) item 3124 (Just isn't useful compared to everything else) item 3041 item 3141 (Literally broadcasting to your enemy that you give zero shits about the game) item 3023 (Never built) item 3152 (Never built) item 3134 (Has terrible build options for a pretty good item)

Pantheon weeps for his lack of itemization choices.

Yeah, I definitely agree that Brutalizer doesn't build into too much. It's usually either gets sold, or goes into youmuu's. Mostly, it's just about the lack of item choice. Hopefully we are getting another armor pen item soon.

Will is usually overlooked for Gunblade, though Will is probably better against enemies building MR, because of the changes which makes the spell vamp not be affected by resistances.

So... I'm the only one who replaces my boots with Zephyr? Considering that they are Berserker's (this is an ADC), I'm not missing out on anything besides the enchantment.

very few of my games do last long enough to replace boots... So now, how often did you see zephyr getting bought aside from boot-replacement?

personally manamune I would like to see give more raw AD when toggled off than toggled on to make it give more AD overall.

it is a stacking item but even fully stacked does not give that much AD compared to the 80 ad items. If it had a better ratio when it was toggled off then it would be closer to 80 ad or maybe even more.

I think a person should be rewarded for going a scaling item. If you are surrendering your lane phase you should be rewarded for making it through without losing the game.

that is why manamune is rarely picked anymore. it just isn't worth surrendering your lane phase for an item that honestly isn't that good even when fully maxed out. the muramana on hit is pretty good, but only a few champions can honestly justify using it.

Lucian could use it well because of his double shot, but because he scales so well with crit/armor pen/raw AD, you don't really build it on him.

Ezreal uses it well because of his Q so its perfect for him.

but beyond that Urgot doesn't really make use of the on hit very much, and neither does Varus as you pick him for his long range poke spam.

Manamune takes about the same time to get fully stacked as seraphs embrace/rod of ages, yet it isn't nearly as good as those items overall. Seraphs for perspective gives around 150is AP when fully stacked and Rod of Ages gives 100 ap fully stacked and 800 mana. (120 ap if you also have seraphs and went super scaling)

Manamune gives less ad than straight up buying a good item like IE, BT, even Essence Reaver. Just the wait isn't worth it. if the wait was worth it, it would be considered more. maybe not become meta, but definitely considered.

Manamune gives like 80 AD when fully stacking from it's passive if you have another mana item.

Ralanr1 votes

But how many mana items do ADCs usually buy?

lostbob1171 votes

Triforce is viable on plenty of champs.

Personally I've always hated trinity force. Feels too expensive.

what other mana item are you going to build? you don't build another mana item. especially if you have manamune which is plenty of mana for the people who use it.

Triforce as I said

Triforce as I said

trinity force only gives you 200 mana. manamune is 2% mana into ad. that is a whopping 4 attack damage.

with triforce, manamune base mana at best you are getting around 70-80 AD for an item that literally put you behind in the early game.

sure you have a ton of mana now, but the damage trade off in power spikes it not worth. which is why it is always going to be niche until they make it scale better. IF they make it scale better.

Really? I thought Manamune would be more like Seraph's Embrace. Seraph's Embrace gives 110 AP fully stacked just from its own 1000 mana. (doing math) Nope. Manamune only give 45 AD by itself (not including base mana)dd

at level 18 with triforce, ezreal would get around 70 ad from the item. that is super late game. and it still gives less AD than a regular item.

granted the manmune costs significanlty less....but I'd gladly take increased cost for higher damage.

It's completely different from Seraphs. Not even including base mana, Seraphs gives third highest AP in the game, more if we have other mana items. Actually, with a base mana of 1000, that's another bonus 30, for a total of 140 AP. It's still below Rabadon's due to Rabadon's stacking with itself, but I think item 3089 is in a pretty weak spot right now. You used to be able to take it without suffering too badly, but now Rylai's, Zhonya's, and Abyssal Scepter are just better. As well as Seraph's, which you can get mid/late if you start with 2 fairy charms.

In terms of raw stats, Seraphs is pretty ideal for heavy mana users but having to build tear early and stack it surrenders a lot of early power. To say it negates deathcap though is silly. You never really rushed death cap anyway. It is more effective once you have other items it's almost always better to build against your opponent then get void/deathcap later.

The manamune on hit damage is cool but it's raw stats are so garbage that even the on hit isn't that great. Even lucian can't justify it despite being able to double proc it and that's saying something. At this point manamune is built solely because it gives decent ad and a ton of mana

Eh, I can't really tell because right now, whenever I go mid I play Diana, and I build her assassin/fighter/ap bruiser, so getting survivability and potential to use skills multiple times really helps. Luden's Echo and Rabadon's are not good pick-ups in that case.

item 3031 is still too strong and gives retarded burst to champions who are made to have sustained damage. Even assasins like Talon and Zed buy it for stupid 2 k crits.
