The other day I got autofilled into jungle. Not support. Not top lane. Jungle. I haven't played jungle since season 5, I asked to swap but no one volunteered. So I was forced to play the role with the most influence in the game despite not knowing much about it against a jungle main playing Lee Sin. And, of course, we lost because I played like shit. How's that fair? Especially in diamond elo, where mistakes are rarely being forgiven by the opponents.

happened in season 1, season 2, season 3, season 4, season 5, for high elos in season 6... doesn't sound that ridiculous to me.
Autofill should only work for support imo.
I've often been autofilled top/jung (my worst roles, I don't even have many champions for top or jun) and matched against role mains... When I'm top vs a toplane main, I usually play super passive and end up being totally worthless for the whole game. When I'm jungle, I get invades every minute, I'm forced to give up farm and experience and end up being worthless and losing the game alone.
This is fucking unfair. Autofill is just a "hehe you have to lose now" card 90% of the time. I can play sup, I am a decent support and since lacks of supports was the issue that created autofill, I would really like if support was the only role considered for it.

I'll debate "the role with the most influence in the game" however you never lose because of autofill, you lose because of your lack of knowledge.

Let the silver 5 dude tell you that you need to know how to play all 5 roles. hehe xd I dropped from d2 to d5, because every god damn game was 0/10 by 10 mins and ofc if you check their accounts, they got autofilled and didn't give a single fuck.

its better than a loss if you cant play the other role at all as your MMR does not take a hit, this is also how you easily skip divisions with Skip + gain method.

That's the problem right there, your thinking process.
When I don't like the matchup, my role, or how my teammates are getting a long, I used the big "X" in the top right and relog on to one of my other accounts.
This gives me a higher winrate AND I avoid a lot of waste-of-time games like you are describing.
Try it.
You can also check your teammates on op.gg to see if they are in a role they are good at.
Losing because I refuse to learn every lane (Like Riot's told me to) is totally justified
