Who is at blame; The Bad player, or the Demoralizing team?

Let's say, a game happens. people hop in champ select. support says "i want to play an off-meta support cuz i feel like having fun" The team, IMMEDIATELLY starts yelling at them to be a meta-slave, playing something "good". the support doesn't listen, say, and locks in karthus.

the game happens. the support, being slow, dies bc All 5 of the enemy team decided to invade, and the support's the only one targeted.

this goes on, botlane has a lead, the support gets targetted, dies. Team flames, support loses interest in the game, isn't playing as well.

now you have a support who's almost inting at this point, and an abusive team who keeps yelling in all chat "Omg report this toxic ffeeder support"

Who's the bad guy? the team, or the guy who tried, and failed, to have fun, in a video game?

Really depends if it's ranked or not. Even that it depends on elo and player skill. I play a lot of support but I ONLY play damage supports. Brand/Xerath/Fizz/Jarvan (I am still working on the last 2). When I pick J4 or Fizz people think I'm trolling and they have dodged...getting side tracked here.

If you are good with the champion and can win more than you lose when you put them in an off meta role than it's fine. BUT in your description he dies 1st then loses lane b/c 1 death. You don't lose a lane due to 1 death. On top of that Karthus isn't even a good non meta support pick. So, IMO that off meta should at least be reasonable. But if youre bad you shouldn't do it...at least in ranked. In non ranked, it's kinda w/e.

the example was just that, an example. a made-up scenario. granted, there's been times i decide to play off meta cuz i want to have fun, and the teams' been absolute ***'s.

And yes this is normals draft. ofc i dont do this stuff in ranked.
