Press the Attack outperforms Lethal Tempo across the board

Judging from both how things play out in game and from all the meta-data I can find on the subject. There doesn't appear to be a single champion who does better with Lethal Tempo than they do with Press the Attack (or some other small blue floating animal related option). That includes folks like Kog, Kayle, and Vayne who one would expect to be dead-ringers for Lethal Tempo.

Not sure if that means Press the Attack is too strong or Lethal Tempo is too weak. Just an observation.

yeah 4.0 atk speed is nothing compared to 100 damage and 12% bonus dmg for 6 sec.

erm... kayle

Fairs significantly better with Press the Attack on every meta-data source I can find.

Who would've guessed that a key stone with a built in delay would suck? I mean maybe we should've paid attention to the assassin rework... Delays make champions feel like shit Leblanc, while conditional damage is fine Talon.

PtA is the better early option but in Late it's worse than LT - especially on the Champs you mentioned. The problem is LT has alot of its power budget locked behind the 2.5 Cap and therefore only gets really good once you can break it. Which really takes a while. But once you do things get messy! x'D

The Problem is early options are so much more important than Late ones due to the current state of the game. See Aery VS Comet, Scorch VS Strom. Both of these Early Options SUCK in Late but still are choosen over the otheres since the snowball is just to much. Again...

Maybe.

Imma go test that right now on the practice tool with a full build on Koggers and Kayle. See which rune comes out on top. And that'll be damage from them only, of course. Not from allies, who also get their damage amped. I'll use whatever the most common build listed on ChampGG is.

Alright, runes are tested.

Kog with Lethal Tempo over the duration of W: 19058 Kog with Press the Attack over the duration of W: 19007

Kayle with Lethal Tempo over the duration of E: 8474 Kayle with Press the Attack over the duration of E: 8519

So the late game DPS they deal is almost identical, except Press the Attack ALSO amps the damage of your whole team. Press the Attack is ALSO more useful in the lane phase where it's three-hit damage proc is going to be far more useful for trades.

Interesting Numbers. Thx for testing.

Still Lethal gets the late award due how easy you can trigger it before using it against squishys. (I.E by throwing a W as Jinx/Jhin, or a R as Kog) If you want to proc PtA in late.. your target is usually dead before the effect kicks in. AKA you play without Keystone in squishy VS squishy.

HOWEVER with "straight forward" Comps - aka you have to dig from frontline to backline - PtA is the better since you want your team to deal DMG as well. ^^

That's how I think about this topic.

Not having a 12% damage amp against their team means you are guaranteed to lose lategame

Tempo is so weak. it needs something because even if you get the perfect moment with tempo where you stand still and attack with onhit or get 5000000 crits. then A. get CCed and the clock is still ticking or B. their out of range. PTA better in lane better, in teamfights and does more damage late because its % damage not even talking about the with the whole team with their damage. RIP the keystone I have the most fun is kinda ok. at least its not the least used keystone. it at least has that going for it.

So in the mean time some nerfs and buffs happened, but the underlying issue is still the same.

Lethal Tempo needs concrete situations where it is flat-out better than Press the Attack. Probably the simplest solution would be to allow it to trigger on epic monsters and towers. Make it the objective securing option.
