League becoming more casual?
It kinda feels like the game's direction is going more towards casuals. Riot pushed for that really, really hard in 2016 with Dynamic Queue... And after backlash they said "Well, solo queue still isn't coming back!" And near the end of the year, give a lame apology, whatever, OK, but actions speak louder than words, and the actions made by Riot since then, I think have only been to make the game more casual... Damage creep is a big concern. Also the old rune system, love it or hate it, it had more options than the new system. The amount of customization involved with the mastery system + the rune system, it made a lot of things viable that are NOT viable right now. Why couldn't Riot just make runes free? Did we really need that system to be replaced by just 6 runes total? I think that the new champ select system was intended to soften the negative impact of the dynamic queue, just like runes being FREE is probably supposed to soften the impact of a total lack of customization. You see, casuals HATE customization, they get confused, overwhelmed, etc. they don't want to bother with it. So this is what we get.
