I REALLY LIKE WARDING
But, I feel like, I get in a lot of teams, where I'm the ONLY person warding.
I recently played a ranked game as Sona Support (which we won), and I checked the Match History afterwards (as I usually do), and found that the number of wards placed was 94 (enemy) vs 93 (us).
48 of those 93 wards, where placed by me. The second highest person on our team (in terms of wards) had placed only 16 [the ADC] (followed by 10 [jungle], 10[mid] and 9[top]) Compare that to the enemy team who had 34[support], 27[jungle], 14[mid], 12[adc], 7[top]
What made me write this thread is, that I JUST finished a game playing Heimer Mid, and I STILL had the most wards(12), which is really sad, because I was playing Mid, and not support or jungle (who, statistically, SHOULD have the most wards placed, and Mid SHOULD be 2-3 place, in terms of placing wards)
Supports have it REALLY easy, because we have items that give us FREE WARDS! Without having to spend 75 gold per ONE ward. We simply have to return to base to refresh our stock. Typically, (when the opportunity presents itself) I will place 4 wards in specific spots on one side of the map, return to base, place 4 more on the other side, return to base. By that time, the team is re-grouped, and I can take 4 MORE wards down to the enemy's jungle/base. This happens in less than 1-2 minutes, and it easiest to do later in the game (especially with super fast boots, and speed boosts from leaving base).
What I'm trying to get at is, Warding is REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT, and I urge anyone reading this to try and make an effort in placing 2-5 additional wards than what they would NORMALLY place. Even if it's just their default [4] button. Try to make a conscious effort to place a ward every time it's available.
Thank you for your time in reading this, and I hope it was helpful or enlightening.
