Help Me Understand Something. So I can be a better player

Ok so, I didn't do amazing: 10.7.22, we won, and I got an A-. [3rd game as Heimerdinger. I typically play Support: DJ Sona] (Yes keep in mind, we WON, and my teammates were still being assholes to each other. Ya'll.. seriously... if you act like that, you need to learn to quit it)

Typically, I only play with my boyfriend and our friends in RL, because ... people are unnecessarily mean... like... we're ON THE SAME TEAM, WTF!? But I decided to play a match by myself, and I'm not the greatest player, but I think I'm getting better. I'm definitely playing better now then when I first started.

I'm going to give you the short version of what happened, and you can skim through and reply if I was right/wrong for each section. As much as this SOUNDS like a QQ thread, I TRULY would like to know if I made the right decision in these scenarios:

Scenario 1 10 minutes into the game, Sejuani rolls through my mid lane with Kassadin and Teemo on her tail. She has about 1/10th of her HP, and Kass and Teemo are at 90-100% HP. Instead of running towards OUR turret, to safety... she runs into jungle, on their side of the map, heading towards bot. Kassadin pursues her and Teemo turns on me. So I attack Teemo. I had him to about 5% HP but I didn't have my Final Boots yet so I was unable to catch up, and I wasn't going to run towards his turret to chase him. Naturally, Sejuani dies after about 2 seconds. She SCREAMS: WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP ME!??!? and I basically was like: "You're acting like I can taunt or heal. This isn't a dungeon. I did what I could. I couldn't help you." And I surely wasn't about to chase after a Kassadin (who had 4.0.0 at that point in the game), when I still didn't even have boots.

Scenario 2 Olaf is attacking our Inhibitor in our base. I ping the base. Sejuani and Thresh are running towards Vayne, and Vayne (the enemy) is running into her jungle towards her base. I now have my boots, but I am closer to the base than I am to Sejani and Thresh. I ping the base again. Sejuani and Thresh ping Vayne I hit recall And I chase Olaf away Thresh and Sejuani both YELL at me: YOU SHOULD HAVE HELPED! (In my head I'm thinking: 'you guys couldn't 2v1?') But instead I said: Yes. I'm just going to let Olaf backdoor next time.

Scenario 3 I died during a team fight, but I was able to get my Ulti up before I died, which granted me 4 assists. So, that was cool, and I obviously did SOME damage. 3 of our teammates survived, and Quinn said "good job!" Illaoi says "fuck you Quinn! you stole my kill!" I said "they died. I think that's all that matters" I mean... seriously...? WHO CARES? We're winning! Clearly Illaoi wasn't doing all the damage, because I got 4 assists. It's not like she killed all 5 people on her own.

You are right in all 3 cases. #2 is my favorite Bronze 6 play of all time. (Happened to me last week. Doh. But best of all... happened at Worlds!)

What champion were you playing in each scenario? Im either not seeing it or it was not mentioned

Edit: 2 and 3 you Did The correct thing. 1 depends what champ you were using at the time but generally in that situation you would sinply be giving the enemy team a double kill if you try to run in. But hypothetically if you are say.... Anivia, you could throw a wall down to help sej or something.

Sorry, 3rd game as Heimerdinger. I'm not great with him yet, but I'm branching out from only playing female characters. But he's kind of cute, so that works ^^ I've mostly been playing DJ Sona, so my reflexes are tuned to playing Support.

Yea, I threw down 2 turrets when I caught up to her initially. That's what primarily damaged Teemo and I tried to throw a bomb at Kass, but I missed :\ That WOULD have at least stunned him, but sadly I wasn't much help there

A champ that uses ulti-Dies and deals damage hmm was he vladimir ? xD

The Ulti-Turret. I'm still new to Heimer, so I don't know what it was called. (An Upgrade?) Part of the assist was from turret damage while I was alive, and then the large turret was still hitting people when I was dead.

Edit your post and add your champion this will make it easier for new readers.

Heh, you think like me, in the sense that..."we are on the same team, we are not enemies, why are you attacking each other!?" Don't these people understand that in most cases, it makes your teammates play worse. Cause now they have to babysit that persons temper, and will second guess everything they do. Seriously, wtf!

I think you did right in all those scenarios. Sometimes you just can't help your teammates, be it you don't have the boots, the mana (now more than ever omg I miss mana pots) or every things on cool down and you don't have enough time to act.

As for the ks, like c;mon, the enemy is dead. That's team work. Everyone gets a piece of it, who cares! They dead.

I am not terribly good at this game, and I don't play a lot of normals , mostly because I can't stand the way people are treating each other in this game, even when its not directed at me, it feels shitty! Ruins the enjoyment of the whole thing. You come out of those games learning nothing.

But, if you ever wanna play with me sometime, add me! i usually play mid, sometimes adc or support. I'm nice, and I like to gift good team mates!

You are right in all 3 scenarios. Remember: as long as you did the right thing for the team, ignore whatever they say... is it a "good job" then just politely say: thanks (and if you weren't alone in that play, add "you too"), is it flame? Then don't even answer, they are just frustrated players who play for the "glory", not the fun nor the win, they will usually lead a team to his demise even with a score of 40-0 thanks to theyr constant 1 vs 5, since all they want is the "glory" of the kills, and they dont care about winning or losing because if they win they "carried hard" (with maybe a 3/10/1 score) and if they lose "it's teams fault report them" (with said 3/10/1 score).

In 90% of cases "you should have helped" can be translated directly into "why didn't you die with me". Just ignore it and anyone who takes the time to type it.

If you have issues with people, you can ignore them. It's not like chat is that useful, really, you have pings for a reason.

Ultimately, if you really want to get better, watch the LCS, invest the time in the Riot/player help videos, make friends with higher ranked people who can directly give you help during the game. Especially if it's over Skype.

However, to respond to your specific concerns:

  1. Inform Sejuani that 2 wrongs don't make a right. However, why did she come through middle? Was she invading? Did she invade while your lanes are pushed? In general, the jungler shouldn't invade unless their lanes are pushing into the enemy turrets, this allows your team to help. Were there wards to assist? How did you attempt to peel, Heimer has a stun, did you try and miss? etc....
  2. You need to keep inhibitors alive over a kill.
  3. People troll, welcome to low elo. In general, the only time a KS annoys me is when the support decides to last hit someone who is obviously gonna die. Otherwise, it's free game. FYI: I play a ton of support and often quote "KS is kill secured." {{summoner:2}}
