I was actually in my promos to Silver I last night but I lost them, but next time I have a better chance! It's so cool because this season I climbed from Bronze IV to Silver II and last season I couldn't make it past my Silver III promos. And now, I have made so much progress!

Gold, here i come!

You sir are a fucking legend, You sir are the alpha bard.

And I show my dominance in lane to prove it

What do you do when your adc won't do anything. You land stuns you land ults turning a 3v2 into a 1v2 (in your favor) but your adc doesn't do anything (and its a premade so your whole team flames your for being "bad")

Chatillon1 votes

Um, what I do is i try to stop the bleeding as much as possible. On ali, I try to save their life and maybe she will be relevant. Like the other day, I had a jinx and she was bad at laning but i kept her alive, and tried to peel for her even though i had a bad game and didnt do a great job. She carried our sorry asses lol.

On Bard, he makes it easy, you can do so much, drop heals, go roam with the Jungle. So often if there's a jungle skirmish in river I'm involved half the time.

Sona, you need to poke the other laner to keep them off your adc, and use your heals and the aoe shield aura to negate their dmg before it lands. I'm getting a lot better roaming on Sona. Her power cord tempo is real good for ganks.

Junglers are your best friend, running with them to deep ward, control enemy buffs, gank, etc

Not every game is winneable thou

BladeSteel1 votes

I meant on bard. I land a 2-3 person ult and my team rages. "worst bard na" I stun in lane, adc keeps farming. Entire team is premade so when adc calls me bad they all do.

Chatillon1 votes

/mute all

try your best

some games just arent winneable

As long as you dont feed, and you dont hear their flame, you just work on you and maybe eventually life will get better.

Same with me but in gold 2 :P good luck man!

A support main that climbed out of bronze and is close to reaching gold in one season... I salute you. Good luck!

Chatillon1 votes

Would you be upset if i told you I mained Volibear through bronze, then MonkeyKing after voli's nerf?

I had to switch to support because it's my best role and I can only reach gold if I play what Im best at. Im a gold support, maybe a gold jungle? but i doubt that

Yeah. Every time I go on a winning streak and get to my promos, Riot says "Here, have some flaming feeders and a few AFKs."

promos are generally ridiculous in this game. I remember last season in my gold promos (took 4 tries but finally got in) in one of my games I had a guy say "lets Pantheon XinZhao bot" and locked in Pantheon. Can't remember why I locked in stupid XinZhao even telling him we were going to get wrecked. Well guess what happened..... we got wrecked. I mean yea... we got some kills early but none of that mattered in the mid game like I told him. Ah promos good times.

Chatillon1 votes

Oh yeah, last season i lost my s3 promos five times before i switched to norms

s3 promos took me four tries this season, which was the worst

try #2 on s1 but I already fell out of s2 twice lol

Just my two cents: don't expect to have a huge winstreak that will instantly get you to Gold. With this mindset losses are more annoying and tilting. Just play and do your best in every game. You are likely to have some more bounces up and down, and with each you'll go up. Also, great attitude to set close goals, one division at a time, and not "I deserve challenjour".

This is good advice. Hopefully you keep rising but I know for me personally getting out of silver 2 into silver 1 was hell. It literally took me 2 seasons and 8 promo tries to reach silver 1. It sounds funny and it is, but in reality I was not ready to rank into gold. I did some soul searching and learned more about the game and finally hit gold in preseason. Ranked back up to gold this season right away and currently have 3 accounts total in gold. Once you learn the game to a certain level you should be able to consistently reach that rank until you quit playing or improve and start rising in rank again. Hopefully you still rising but if not don't sweat it too much just focus on improving and you will keep ranking up.

Chatillon1 votes

Thats the plan!

Chatillon1 votes

Oh lol, dude, i fell out of s2 twice this week. I made it back in though. Losses are tilting when it's as simple as focus the soraka. Being a Sona or Bard you simple dont do enough dmg and cant always set it up. I try my best, sometimes i don't always play my best, but im learning a lot!

I know more about lane management and map awareness than my adc's half the time and ill freeze the wave at our turret if the enemies let us

Niaphim1 votes

Losses are tilting indeed, but you have to remember that every game you decide to not try your best and troll will cost you ~40 lp - a difference between a win and a loss. Last season I was Gold 1. This season I spent 6 months in low gold (G5-G4) playing weird stuff like Lux support (not really weird but not that effective). Occasionally I would get mad and throw a couple of games which brought me back to G5 from around G3. When I took a more serious and calm appoach I got to P2 promos in less than 1 month. Then again I got a bit too relaxed and fell back to P4. So attitude really matters.

Chatillon1 votes

Yeah, I know. I do try my best but some days Im off, like after spending the day moving freshman in exhausted me and it showed. I can at least identify mistakes now that snowballed the game against us, and I think thats a big deal. Grabbers are annoying af

Kal Vas Flam1 votes

Good luck. I started the season B2 and climbed up to G1 supporting and jungling. These last two weeks have been hell for me though and I'm sitting in G5 atm. Went from nearly 50 games over .500 to only 8 games over .500. Sad panda.

SecondChanceHero1 votes

Congrats!

SpookyNeedle1 votes

If I win my next 2 ranked games, I'll bet at 98-99 LP for G5 promos ;-;

Buy a new level 30 account for like $8 then start over.

Just make a new account and pick a champ to one trick from level 1 to 30. Its more time intensive, sure, but its free. Its also a REALLY good way to master a champ. I've got 16 accounts and I make multiple new smurfs every season to try and learn a champ from 1-30, master them, then take them into ranked and see if I can one trick them to diamond. I've gotten pretty good at it and it usually takes me about 150-200 games to make it to diamond now a days. The bonus MMR you get for your first 50 lifetime ranked matches on an account is indeed a significant boost to your grind. Its a lot easier to climb when you are gaining 40 MMR per win than 20. The bonus is greatest in your first placement game and slowly tapers down for the next 49, but smurfs are an excellent way to kickstart your ranking and motivate you when you quickly achieve better rankings on the smurf than on the primary account.

Thunderspam1 votes

Lol no I have hextech annie and 8 other gemstones

ItsOrval1 votes

I have all champs on my main account that is stuck in between bronze I and Silver IV. This account only has 16 champs, i use this one to rank up. But ive been on a losing streak so im going to have to restart probably. This game is basically about luck. If your team knows how to focus the right person, and play safe, then you'll win. If not, rip.

Thunderspam1 votes

so your saying to make a smurf account to get good on but main my first account?

ItsOrval1 votes

My main account is my first account ive made, thats why i said main.

And theres no point in making a smurf account if you dont think youre good enough for higher elo. Trolls ruin your mmr, so no point in trying to regain mmr after having so many bad games with them.

It CAN be done, but its a LOT harder to do on accounts that have tanked their MMR inflation. You always want to keep an account with an MMR+ (MMR over division average, or inflation) of 100-150. This will assure that you are getting at least 25 LP per win cutting down the number of games you have to grind and make you eligible to skip promo series and divisions if your MMR+ is at least 150 and you are on a long enough winning streak.

Nah, its the other way around. Get GOOD on the main. Then use a smurf to take advantage of the Bonus MMR from its first 50 lifetime ranked matches to attain a higher ranking. THEN get good there and learn some lessons. Go back to your main, apply said lessons, raise it up past the smurf. Rinse and repeat by swapping back and forth.

In the early portions of seasons I use older accounts to test out things in ranked to see how the changes have affected the games. Then I swap over to new accounts or my best ranked accounts and apply what I have learned. Its a pretty solid system thats worked out for me for several years now.

Demotion.

:(

Impressive skills for a 6 month player. One of my students has played for about 6 or 7 now. Pyre Onyx. Hopefully he will be hitting diamond in the next week or two, he's got most of the skill but he needs to clean up his decision making and objective prioritization. Not many first year players can achieve that kind of success, so congrats mate.

ItsOrval1 votes

I thought i was on my way to getting to play, i was on a 16 win streak 2 days ago, then i faced tank Yasuo and have been tilted ever since. Got demoted from gold 4 and have been playing like shit.

Rip win streak.

I'd ban Yas until the patch takes effect and the bug is fixed.

I wasnt able to ban any champs, i was first pick.

Thunderspam1 votes

I know the feel, I get SOOOO many S- on my Garen, Lux and Sona its ridiculous. Finally nailed that S on Sona last night going 3/4/24 though. I felt good because I made our jhin go 17/0/10 :) he called me the Best Support NA

Krigjer1 votes

I'm also a support main that placed B2 this season and am now Gold V.

Best of luck, you can do it!

BLACK REALM GOD1 votes

I'm sitting on a win streak currently in bronze v, but I've been having connection issues lately that riot couldn't help me fix so I haven't been on ranked. It causes all kinds of weird bugs like greyed out abilities and moments of frame drop that end in random ability spam etc. Same stuff happens every year every day 24/7 so I can't play online games competitively :'/ when I'm not lagging though I can do some pretty cool things.

Tbh once I climbed to G5, literally 90% of the people where boosted bronzes there. If it wasn't for seasons rewards and my goal of one rank increase per season, I would totally stay at S1.

Chatillon1 votes

Yeah, I honestly felt like b1 had better players than s5-s3

s2 is getting better, and i bet s1 will be nice. It's sad that so many ppl let their friends boost them and i gotta struggle though all the bad players to make it to gold
