Am I the only person who hates the 'have one lesson with the master and become a master yourself' trope? Definitely overused in Avatar

They are by no means masters. i mean toph was a natural at bending, but sokka was not the best swordsman, Katara learned over a while herself aang was already a airbending master, and zuko trained with his uncle ever since his exile. There was undoubtable offscreen training but wasnt included because theres no reason to.

One example? Every character of the main group had trained for a considerable period of time and were improving throughout the entire series as far as I saw. Even the technique Iro taught Zuko wasn't used until much later in the series and he still was Novice at it.
