Darius isn't fun anymore

I understand that Darius has some balance changes coming up next patch, so hopefully the upcoming changes may make him fun for me to play again, but as it sits right now the rework completely changed his identity and he no longer serves the purpose that I always picked him for.

Up until the rework, Darius was my favorite top laner hands down. He was quick, responsive, and a very strong lane bully early game. I picked him specifically BECAUSE he had a strong early game. He was my go-to guy for whenever I needed someone that I could easily push someone like Nasus out of lane early, and falling off late game was the compensation I was willing to accept for having such a strong early game.

But now its the exact opposite, I struggle to do anything at all with him early game, so I'm forced to just try and survive to the point where I can reach that late game unstoppable Bloodrage. He's slow, sluggish, and not at all fun to play anymore. The delay on his Q makes it far too easy to dodge, and doesn't feel satisfying to use anymore. OK yeah, so his new Q heals him when I actually do manage to hit with it but it feels pretty stupid honestly. I'd much rather have increased movement speed when channeling it so it's easier to position myself to hit them properly rather then getting a small bit of health back and slightly reducing the damage I took from the trade.

His Q is no longer any fun to use, there is absolutely no point to leveling up his W anymore, and his E has become much less reliable ever since they fixed that bug which I thought was an intended feature the entire time.

I tried to give new Darius a chance, I really did. I wanted to still like playing as him, he was my favorite champ to take top for crying out loud! But he's just not the same anymore, and that really makes me sad to see his role completely changed like that. Heck, when I was trying him out after the rework, I had someone telling me not to pick him because he was a joke now! I hate to say it, but I think I agree with them. It really pains me to have to add one of my former favorites to the list of champions I have to reroll every time I get them in ARAM now.

I agree, Darius just isn't Darius anymore and it's really sad :(

He is still disgustingly good Learn to play his new early game properly http://puu.sh/jVbwV/bc6690c883.png

And P.S. Don't start Q level 1 against melee champions, W does more damage, is an auto reset, and applies a slow to get another auto in

Normally, I would get absolutely destroyed by Darius as Teemo, but I've been abusing his windup so much, he's really not the same anymore. Yeah, this board hates feast/famine champs, but that is literally Draven and Darius' identity. You picked Darius specifically for his early power, and tried to capitalize on it, the same way people pick Vayne/Nasus and try not to feed for the first while, then capitalize on their later power. Some snowbally champs could use more reliability instead of feast/famine playstyle, but not Darius.

But if you swing the axe slowly, you can heal 15% of your missing health. Couple him with Dead Man's Plate and Black Cleaver and then the reinforced meta is satisfied!

Seriously though, how does taking a whole second to swing magically heal 15% of your missing health. There's nothing about Darius that says, "I care about my sustain, I've cut grooves into my axe so the blood can rain down the handle and into my mouth, muahahaha!"

As a Darius main, I can definitely say i will give up his lane bullying 1000 times over to be relevant late game. This rework is amazing

i've found darius is still plenty strong early game, his q just does less damage early on. Besides, darius in team fights after that first dunk....it just gets me all tingly inside.

I disagree, he's a rampaging dunker who heals and survives in teamfights.

Sounds a lot more fun that "i won laning phase but now I instadie in teamfights and can't dunk more than 1 person"
