About ARURF...
So as many of us know already Riot has announced the release of URF on ARAM essentially, my question to Riot is how will this work? I was excited at first but I stumbled upon an URF Q and A from about a year back and when someone asked about a potential URF on Howling Abyss to which Buffmeplz (Riot) replied, "You can do this in custom games right now. I don't know if we would ever support a queue for it - we tried a couple of games with this internally last year and the lack of strategic options on Howling Abyss makes champion selection even more dominant than it already is. Coupling with the inability to heal and shop generally makes the games very frustrating - either they were too long (with neither team gaining any traction) or they were too short (with one team absolutely crushing the other team" Ithing Buffmeplz brings up a lot of good points in this and it's almost worrisome. URF has everyone in the community excited and some are let down that it's ARURF and not just URF on summoner so Rift and I can start to see why. What's the fun in rapid fire when you're playing someone like Evelyn Zed or Zac who a more fun in open environments as opposed to closed in ARAM? People will just die left and right and not be able to do anything about it. I think I'd rather have fun in regular URF even if it means getting destroyed by a level 7 mastery Zed a few times, in regular URF you can roam of course and have fun if you're getting destroyed in lane which happens a lot in URF but in Howling Abyss you don't really have that option. If an enemy is destroying everyone you have no choice but to go in on them, if you focus them as a team it only enables them to buy more items and come back stronger ready to destroy everyone, I can't see the fun in getting killed accomplishing nothing with an op enemy aside from the rest of their team. So my question is (and I think many of us want to know) is how do you plan on fixing these problems mentioned? Sure we were told that certain champions would be disabled due to not being viable but we all want to play our mains in URF and with ARURF you have a 1/131 chance of getting a preferred champion, some champions are good in URF like Mundo or Trnyd that you wouldn't expect to be but we want to be able to choose and experiment, not get stuck with a champ. In all honesty I am excited for this new ARURF mode but am worried about how it'll work out
