A thought about Assassins: What are their niches?
Anyone ever notice how some Assassins don't have strong and defined niches?
I'll be talking about the following champions

There are more you might want to argue should be included as Assassins like Ahri, Master Yi, or Twitch, and honestly, I'd invite you to do a similar niche analysis on them if you'd like. I just want to try to explain one big difference between
These guys
And most everyone else on the list.
Let me show you a few examples of what I'm trying to say. If I show you a picture of Katarina, for many of you the first thing that comes to mind is an AOE storm of daggers and blinking around. No other Assassin has the massive AOE potential that Katarina has. If I show you a picture of Talon or Evelynn, you may immediately think about some of the ridiculous flanking maneuvers that their kit enables them to do. But what if I showed you a picture of Akali? Some of you may immediately think of her Spell-Vamp, resulting in that stat-checky nature many people attribute to her gameplay. LeBlanc? Her clones perhaps, but I'd argue that Shaco shares the same niche and does it better in terms of deception and trickery around clones. Rengar is just odd to me, in how his kit functions as a really all or nothing Diver more than the in and out style of Assassins. And then there's Zed, the literal posterboy for Riot's design ideals for Assassins. Except Zed is so fundamental to Assassin ideals that he doesn't really do anything. In and out diving around and misdirection is standard for Assassins, so while his shadows are certainly cool and unique thematically, they're really standard for an Assassin. And his Death Mark is cool but it's the same as the rest of his issues, REALLY good at saying "I'm an Assassin", nothing to say about unique elements of Zed's gameplay.
is ridiculously Utility and Skirmisher based. Hell, many people thought and think of him as the "Utility" Assassin
's permastealth makes her flanking potential ridiculous
's Ultimate is a huge Initiating/Teamfight/Pick/Zone Control tool that no other Assassins have anything to compare with, and his troll pole while polarizing is a unique gameplay and strategic element all by itself
is a gigantic AOE storm of raw damage
has the option to act more like a Drain Tank and flex incredibly well strategically
's gameplay revolves around isolation and picking the right tools for the game
rocks the deception and misdirection game and throwing a game into chaos
No other Assassin matches Talon in roaming and flanking options
All of these Assassins have great defining niches that don't bind them to how good they statcheck any single opponent like Akali or Rengar, nor drop them as really generic or representing a niche really sub par like Zed or LeBlanc.
What do you think about these Assassin's niches? Is there a particular niche you think they already have but they can do better? Or is there an unexplored gameplay element that can fit with Assassins that you think one of the four could fulfill?
Personally, I would love to see an Assassin that really capitalizes on hunting down targets in the jungle/unwarded areas, something with extended tracking capabilities like Rek'Sai. This could be a niche Rengar could fulfill, really playing on a hunter fantasy by giving him tools explicitly designed to track down a target in unwarded areas of the map and catch them out isolated. Similar to but not the same as Kha'Zix. Fits in their lore relationship as well I'd think.
