Goal: Add Entropy to Summoner's Rift and give it a niche unique from Frozen Mallet via remakes. Return Ionic Spark to existence as a component of Mallet to give it a better build-up.

-Entropy is added to the Rift and remade. It now builds out of Phage, Pickaxe, and Brutalizer but it loses its active and gains a new passive. UNIQUE passive: Your single target spells and basic attacks steal 20% of the target's movespeed (15% for ranged) for two seconds.

Nice new passive, good buildup, great item for sticking to targets, alternative to Trinity Force for folks that want more attack damage.

-Ionic Spark returns! It builds out of a Recurve Bow and a Ruby Crystal. It grants attack speed, HP, and some OnHit magic damage in addition to the following. UNIQUE passive Stormblast: Your basic attacks build charges. At four charges your next basic attack (onhit) consumes the charges releases a chain-lightning that deals 100 magic damage to up to 4 enemy units.

-Frozen Mallet's build is changed to Ionic Spark and Giant's Belt. It grants MOAR HP, a little more attack speed, some OnHit magic damage, and an augmented passive. UNIQUE passive Stormblast: Your basic attacks build charges. At four charges your next basic attack (onhit) consumes the charges and blasts all foes in an area with an icy explosion, slowing them by 40% for 1.5 seconds, dealing 100 magic damage, and applying OnHit effects to all units hit.

Just to be clear, your primary target doesn't get hit twice by OnHit effects. That would be a little bit absurd on a few champions who will remain unnamed.

To be honest, I see this as just another way ranged ADs will be able to kite melees that lack a gap-closer. I like the items, don't get me wrong, and they actually sound pretty balanced, but in a meta where tanks are already so weak compared to other classes, I don't think these items' implementation is thr right thing this game needs.

Well, neither of these items would be particularly amazing on Rangers. You always have to ask yourself, which item would they be giving up to take it?

Infinity Edge, Dancer, Whisper, Guardian Angel, Bloodthirster, Zerkers. One of those would need to be dropped. No Whisper means that Tanks are immortal. No Thirster mean you have no lifesteal. No Guardian Angel means you explode instantly if someone looks at you funny. No Dancer means you lose a ton of your multiplicative damage, same with IE.

But if Entropy proved to be too strong on Rangers it would be pretty easy to reduce its power, just reduce the strength of the movespeed steal or make it melee only if it's too strong. The new Mallet is mean to be more of a Bruiser/Tank item. It would actually be pretty solid on Nautalis and Shen. And just plain hilarious on Volibear.

Hah, yeah.

When I was coming up with the new Frozen Mallet I was mostly thinking about Shen, Naut, Volibear, and Shyvana. This new version of Mallet would be really great on all of them. For added fun, it could be bought along with Hurricane and Static Shiv to play Pikachu Kennen.

Mostly I was wanting to give the two items unique personalities and purposes. The problem with Entropy and Mallet right now is that they're both these HP/AD kiting/sticking items. I also needed some way of making Entropy a potentially attractive buy over Trinity Force since they both share Phage in their buildup. I think making Entropy the AD heavy kite/stick item and Mallet the IAS one is totally the way to go. This gives players four choices for persistent item-based CC, Crystal Scepter for the Mages, Iceborn for the folks that want mana and Spellblade, Entropy for AD champions, and Mallet for champions who are more interested in IAS/OnHit.

More meaningful options is always a good thing!

i like the idea of getting the ionic spark and get the Entropy to Summoner's Rift, and great idea that both will build into a frozen mallet ... in another word: i just can imagine this items on shen {{summoner:10}}

This is the most walrus idea I've ever heard.

Interpret that how you will.

If that went through, I'm certain the passive you specified for Entropy would be an active instead. We don't want an item like that to have infinite uptime.

Apparently Riot thinks that a 20% movespeed steal is more healthy than a 40% movespeed slow if the recent changes to Stalker's Blade is any indication. I can't really say, though, since all I can do is spitball ideas that I think Riot might be interested in perusing.
