Please return gold income items to ARAM

ARAM is one of those gamemodes that I love to play anytime, because its designed to be short and fun. However sometimes you get a champion (I don't ARAM smurf) that is either not very mobile or in the trade fights of ARAM, they go "oom" after 1 or 2 fights. The gold income items where extremely useful as they where extremely cost effective in ARAM for making gold or allowing a sub-optimal champion to have mana regeneration or sustain when normally they would not.

Best of all, what the gold income items would build into was always useful utility that ensured that it never crippled your ARAM build by providing dead stats. So why the heck where they removed?! excellent items to build, provided great bonuses and a crapton of gold if fully harnessed. frequently they're where core starter items to many builds, as they gave you extra stats you needed to work in ARAM. Nobody was getting screwed because of them, so why?

A unnecessary removal that gutted a hefty chunk of the champions for ARAM. Why would you nerf fun? As ARAM is suppose to be for fun...

Probably because they added the +3 gold for being near a minion death that you didn't last hit. Buy a morellonomicon or tear if you need mana regen.

yes and if you're someone like Sion or Darius you are screwed for mana regen, for sion I'd buy item 3301 right off that bat and have sustain and later a movement speed engage.

Sure you could buy mana regen but the damage it would do to your build would be huge as mana regen seems to come from mostly AP items.

Coin is lousy on Sion, especially in ARAM. Simply having stronger stats from an early specter's cowl and pots is better. Run the mastery for % missing mana regen and you'll rarely go OOM unless you spam skills like you don't have a care in the world. Mana should never be a problem in ARAM, and if it is, be the guy on your team who takes clarity (generally speaking at least one of you should have it per team unless you have more than one manaless/energy champ).

The trick to getting good at ARAM is not spamming abilities and focusing on farm as a priority, team fighting as the secondary. You'll burn a lot less mana that way and generally survive a lot longer. That's how you end games consistently with high KDA and grades.

sorry I don;t min max in ARAM is FOR FUN, and part of the fun is being spammy.

Just cuz ARAM is for fun doesn't mean I can't have fun using my main and playing smart.

You're the worst kind of ARAM player if you treat it like a place to dick around when the rest of us want to actually have fun by doing well. Spamming spells isn't the only or even best way to have fun.

And regardless, clarity and a normal build is always stronger than coin and the other GP10 items were, and unless you have a very strange sense of fun, getting fed and wrecking the other team is more fun than not.

I never dick around, I always play serious, which is why I never play ranked; the emotional damage it does to me when I'm surrounded by imbeciles and feeders is unsustainable.

Well that's fair. Sorry if I sounded rude (I realized that in retrospect), I just dislike that kind of player and the way you were talking about your play style reminded me of that.

To each their own, and if it's fun and works for you, go for it!

Coin offers you more HP and mana sustain in lane, which can be crucial against poke comps. It also gives you gold advantage by letting your carries farm.

my wife said she wasn't gonna spend another dollar on this game because a year from now it may not even be the same game... I'm starting to feel the same way because these aram changes really are getting me down, i could play aram for hours and love the tug of war scenarios.... waiting for someone to make a mistake and capitalizing or I myself rushing in taking a risk trying to start a winning team fight.... everygame it things seem worse and worse, I think they went way to far with the changes.... stronger super minions AND more of them???

Probably because so few people built them.

I mean, if everyone built Relic Shield as a starting item, we could have shit-tons of sustain and gold-share...

Yeah, relic shield was amazing on aram. The gold income items were about the only way to gain a team wide gold advantage. Kills could concentrate your teams gold but even if the kill count was lopsided the gold differences are minimal because of bounties.

Relic shield wasn't actually that great. Ally sustain is halved, and self sustain is usually countered by getting close to take CS. Gold income is better if you can proc it reliably, but otherwise, coin is better.

FantasySniper1 votes

Yeah, but when everyone is healing themselves and one another, that sustain stacks up.

But if you're gonna sustain, coin was better. And coin active is arguably better than relic active.

None of that matters now though :(

Idk, I carried with Taric with multiple shields, Relic being one of them.

Also Teemo and Malz did well with the blue gold income item.

And you think supports didn't need coin?

50000000000000001 votes

I'm not saying support items overall were bad. I'm saying coin line was better for sustain than relic shield line. The active was arguably better, too. I'm actually saying that the coin was best. Spellthief's line was also good, but that's not a sustain item so I didn't mention it.

But Rito nerfed supports in Aram basically is what I am saying.

Because clearly they are not nerfed and underplayed enough to begin with. Kappa.

yes I agree, they created counter play for people who struggled gaining gold.... now the big fish just snow balls even harder
