5 Things to Fix If You Want to Climb Solo Queue This Season - Coach Carbon
http://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Taric_2.jpg TL:DR edit: Change your attitude, apply map pressure all the time, focus on a smaller champion pool, focus more while in your game, learn from your mistakes
1.)Attitude - Your emotions affect how you play... Are you focused on your team mates play style or your own in solo/queue? We talk about being toxic all the time on the boards and that is one part of it... but even before you or your team get to that point, what do you find yourself focusing on? When your jungler dies on an area of the map, is your first thought, "Fucking idiot" or does your mind immediately think of ways to pressure the map given knowledge of enemies. Food for Thought. Your attitude is the number one most important thing if you want to convert poor laning phase games into end game wins.
2.) Map Pressure - In your role... are you doing what needs to be done in order to provide your team with map pressure? Map pressure is what your goal should be throughout the game. Have you ever been pinned against your inner turret for days and no matter how hard your jungler tries to gank they always have vision somewhere and are able to run or countergank? Map pressure allows your team to take objectives, out-rotate the enemy and draw their resources out into the open.
3.) Consistency - Do you claim to be able to play 10 mid laners, or adcs, ect...? Now how many of them could you take and beat somebody in lane that was a division higher than you and then team-fight effectively (i.e. Gold to Plat)? If you can't say that about any of the champions in your pool then their is a problem. You need to be practicing with a small, core group of champions that you get consistent results from. What good does it do in solo queue to consistently go even in lane? If you aren't winning your lane or applying pressure on the map, you aren't helping your team. This step comes with practicing specific facets of your own gameplay and champion pool. YOU CAN ONLY CONTROL YOURSELF IN SOLO QUEUE!
4.) Focus - Stop casually queuing for ranked and just flippantly rolling through champ select and the game itself without thinking twice about anything that's not right in front of you. I'm guilty of this... 10 minutes into the game you find yourself saying "we have an
?" Actively be thinking about possible scenarios before and during a game. Make deliberate moves on the map, and stop idling just clicking and waiting for your laner to make a move... Be proactive and have a gameplan!
5.) Do your homework and Learn - There are entirely too many people in the ranked player base that simply don't have enough game knowledge yet complain about certain facets of the game or certain champions. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me," fool me thrice, well I'm just down right ignorant... If you consistently lose to certain champions or play styles then go back and look at your past game footage and learn from your mistakes! The only person holding you back is yourself.
You'll notice I never mentioned mechanics or good teammates anywhere in this post. It's because their is no need for them. If your individual play and attitude is consistently better then your team is by default that much better.
<3 you guys
Just want you all to reach your goals!
