Then there was just this point where they just said fuck it and left him for dead because it's impossible to balance a champion with a 3 second build in flash that does damage?

That's because if an AD champion is broken you can just force them to be an auto-attack based champion and make their spells do no damage

I agree with Zed but not Yasuo. Yasuo is my second most played champ with 56k and he is nowhere near balanced :D

You are right.

He's very feast and famine.

For example if Yasuo's lane opponent knows his stuff, Yasuo doesn't exist as a champion for at least 20 minutes.

But you can't disagree with what he is saying, mages have always been a bit broken and still are. They are Riot's favorite class, maybe tanks compete for that spot, but still.

That is more so a list of champs the community has hated, but Riot has not done a lot to hit them. The champions that have caused similar headaches for Riot are Olaf, Evelyn, Azir, and Kalista.

Just think: we'll be able to recall the Riot game that led to the creation of the Ionian Boots of Lucidity (Udyr MVP), a time where Kassadin was basically an "I Win" champion for mid lane, the glory days of Pizza Feet, Ashe mid, Ezreal having a heal, the old UI for the really old farts among us... Kass is one of the few late game monsters who have an appropriately bad early game. Granted he does have a few really favorable match ups.

I'd say he's a better designed assassin than any of the reworked ones, that's for sure.

He's not even a late game monster anymore.... They literally gutted his kit again... because his riftwalk has such a short range now that it's worthless... There was champions that do his job 10x better late game and early game and everywhere in between.

I mean, kass's ult isn't what it used to be, sure, but its still about the range of flash. It isn't that bad, especially since your E slows for a good chunk too.

Serious question, what do people build on kass? They say he does no damage early and mid, and while he does no damage early and his mid game damage isn't the best, his late game damage is ridiculous. ROA, lich bane, dcap/void, maybe an abyssal and your w does like 90% of a carries health.

Tbh, Riot took a lot of effort in season 5 to buff him up to a balanced state with small buffs from patch to patch to finally bring him to this state he is now, which can be pretty well named balanced. It's not like Riot did jack shit and he just magically became balance from being shit tier after season 4 gutting.

Every time I play him, its like he has no dmg at all.. cmon.. 180 dmg on Q and E with max lvl.. thats so fucking stupid.. its almost as weak as vlad Q

item 3027 + item 3285 + item 3100 + Thunderlord and your damage is actually huge in mid/early late game. When everybody is starting reaching full build, you get item 3135 so your damage doesn't fall off. Also, you forgot about his W which has 0.9 AP ratio and ult which also packs a punch.

Kassadin's issues stemmed from symptoms of Beta design philosophy, and were exacerbated by later design choices. Dude was meant to port in, silence, and stab up a caster, but melee DPS doesn't really work in this game (and back then, neither did melee anything else), and so instead people built him full AP so he could actually do things...and we all see how that turned out.

If he'd want to truly be healthy he'd need some kind of skirmish-ey DPS kit with stickiness and such, but the way League works I don't know if they can even do that.

We could make a mechanic where if he hits 3 spells on someone and then nether blades them, kassadin enters the void, leaving him making spells/autos pas through him, not damaging him, but still CC'ing him.

If you have that and readjust his numbers and maybe put attspd on netherblade, he could be a dps melee assassin
