Wukong rant?

I am a long time Wukong OTP (on different accounts). My highest elo is Gold 1 playing with low Diamond. Before I rant, I will admit (to my surprise, and probably yours) that Wukong actually sports a 52% win rate overall. It makes it seem like the champion is actually in a good spot, but I disagree.

A lot of people I play against tell me that Wukong is a bad champion. Sometimes they even tell me that he isn't viable top anymore. Wukong gets bullied a lot, and isn't very good until 20+ minutes in the game, when he can go for one shots on the back line. That is literally the only thing the champion is good at. Wukong is a glass cannon Bruiser that is only good at cheesing the backline.

I have some specific ideas for changes for Wukong to make him more of a bruiser and less of an assassin. Wukong has such a bad design though that It would be a long list of changes. To keep it short, Wukong's base stats are shit. Only his AD is good. His scaling damage would have to be lowered, his base damage would have to be increased. His level 1 R is garbage. He needs built in sustain (like every other bruiser in the game). And his passive needs to be less useless all lane phase and in all 1v1 situations.

Again, this is just a rant, I have gotten used to no one in the Riot company, or the player community caring about this champion. Because of this I don't expect much to be honest. I will continue to play the champion, although it is a disadvantage right out of champion select. Again, I am very surprised that he maintains a good win rate. It is very frustrating for me to play him now a days.

Wukong had problems in lane even before the nerfs he had a lot of mana and csing issues and he loses 90% of Match Ups by default playing him as a Bruiser feels really useless , I end up going full damage ways to fix him ? increase his base stats , fix his mana problems and give him a better time for laning , make him more tanky , nerf his scaling damage , problem fixed, there isn't even a need for a rework

This bs. Would still build him full AD with your "changes".

He's played full AD cause he bring nothing but damages, 0 utility beside a knockup once every 1 min.

i mean, if you want to make Wukong build bruiser u need to add some more cc in his kit. if not, everyone will still build him glass canon.

his whole kit would need changes in this case.

His Q range isnt high, every champ can punish him, there no reason nerf him further (this spell is already trash 10 damage lv for 40 mana point lmao).

Im not a wukong player,but would replacing his current passive with one that offers some form of sustain fix his laning problem?Or at least lower the amount of lanes he loses by default

Well you don't need to change him. Leave the abilities the same, increase base stats, and lower scaling damage a little. Wukong's level Health Regen is 6 every 5 seconds. The average for bruisers is 8/5 seconds. Champions that already have built in sustain, or shield or good way to mitigate damage have 8-10 per 5 seconds. This alone would help Wukong sustain the amount of bullying he goes through in lane.

Basically rito when talking about wukong. He is their golden boy as far as gameplay changes go. He will continue to be the same as long as china exists. (this inculdes changing his base stats, etc.) It is sad I agree but when Riot is a chinese company being able to play wukong while outside of the chinese server is a good enough buff to him.

All they need to change is his abilities, his skills needs some update. Like change his decoy skill to a new skill where he can summon two clone of himself for short period of time help him on combat. Kinda like shaco’ clone and annie’s Bear

The thing about Wukong is that we used to only be able to get survey and data from players in Riot regions, and in NA/EU he is highly requested for a update. This made us put him high on our update list. A couple years ago though we started getting data from China as well.** In China he is extremely popular and not anywhere close to highly requested for a update as most players there love his kit.** This made us re-think his priority on our list as we have to think about all our players globally when we prioritize updates. While our NA/EU players would be happy with a Wukong update, it comes at a very high risk of just upsetting and confusing many players in China who wouldn't understand why we are updating a Champion like Wukong who they view as a great Champion.

#The Rioter explicitly said he wasn't as HIGH OF A PRIORITY of a rework due to not all regions wanting it.

They NEVER said they were not going to rework him because of China. They said that he was not as high priority as others that are wanted by EVERY region.

While our NA/EU players would be happy with a Wukong update, it comes at a very high risk of just upsetting and confusing many players in China who wouldn't understand why we are updating a Champion like Wukong who they view as a great Champion.

Its same. They dont plan to rework him until x years.

Not to be rude, but you are playing in Silver. The lower the elo the easier it is to Jungle.

Not to be rude, but you're posting on a level 29 account while admitting that the highest tier you've reached is Gold 1 (while claiming your MMR is much higher, but that's unlikely since if your skill level were actually that high getting past G1 wouldn't be an issue) Silver isn't much of a difference than what you play in.

Are you joking? Gold makes up 8.26% of the LoL pop, while Silver makes up 29.99% as of right now... While it might feel like those ranks are the same, they are clearly not.

I don't use statistics to make inferences. I make only make my conclusions based on my own experiences.

There is a reason why those numbers are so far apart. What you see is in consequential... If it weren't because I already know what these stats show, I would agree with you that high silver is the same as low gold. But that's it.

I just played against a pretty decent Wukong who had DH earlier today, although he seemed to fall off late game because he got pretty tilted.

Honestly speaking, Wukong needs some sort of Ability Update to his kit. He isn't very pleasant to fight against in-lane with his binary/one-dimensional E-AA-QW combo every time he's off cooldown.

I agree about Wukong issues (the ones you listed) but i dont agree with lowering his scaling without changing his kit. IF you keep his current kit, you will still have a ccless champ. Why would you build him tanky without having any cc (beside ult ) ??

First up, bruiser is such a ridiculously broad and unclear term that in league includes a heap of different classes and subclasses leaving people with no idea what you actually want.

Secondly, a large part of the reason wukong constantly gets gutted/abandoned and does not get a new passive is exactly because he has no identity, his basic abilities are pretty much assassin ones , his ult is some juggernaut/tank one, his passive is for a tank.

But he has no real DPS or dueling skills so he sucks as a diver/skirmisher.

He isnt quite slippery enough so not an assassin, and his early is too weak.

He is too squishy to be a tank, and even if he was made tankier he´d be useless because his damage would have to go instead.

Exactly because he has no clear identity he cant be buffed because he becomes a problem right away, his kit has aged extremely poorly so what he needs is not some buffs/nerfs or a tweaked passive.

He needs a full on VGU, a swain/galio level one.

Right now he lives of cheese building lethality/Apen to oneshot enemy carrys, as long as this ever works he cannot change in some other way,,,,,,but at the same time he cannot change with any small way.

Only way he´d make it as a tank would be if his damage was straight up gutted, tank stats buffed and ult CD reduced greatly, then he could be a initiation one.

But at the same time who wants to play as a spinning wet noodle with a short knockup?
