Do not take all the advice that you read
"Lower elo players should play low mechanic champions, so they can focus on the game more" vs. "Lower elo players should learn high mechanic champions, because their opponents are easily outplayed and won't know their champion as well as you""
"You should follow build guides, because they are written by high elo players who know the champion and game really well" vs. "You should not follow build guides, because they only work on certain situations"
"You should build cull on kog'maw, because he already plays passive early, and he will be even stronger mid game." vs. "You should not build cull on kog'maw, because he already has a weak early game and scales well without it"
"Don't split push in low elo, team fights are better because they decide the game" vs. "You should split push in low elo, because enemies have bad map awareness and don't know how to deal with split-pushers"
"Build tanky on Master Yi so you can fight for a longer time and be a better front line for the team" vs. "Build full damage on Master Yi, so they don't have time to fight back or react, plus his scalings are too good"
The point of this thread is that advice should not be accepted easily, and not to take everything you read as true, even if it comes from a higher elo player than you.
