Daily reminder, still CANT mute pings

While we're at it, when's the "Ward here" ping coming?

Shout out to my #1fan

> {quoted} > > Is it daily at this point? I don't remember. Anyway, I'm here to remind you that pings are an essential communication system in League, which, if you had the ability to mute select players freely, would lead to the system being abused.

While you cant mute, you can lower the volume of it to basically make it silent. The thing is there needs to be some way to communicate if you mute someones chat, having zero communication in a game that basically requires the basic amount would kill the game. Its not ours, or Riot's fault that people abuse it.

Then here's your daily reminder to quit bitching about something that's not gonna get changed.

ok honestly , you are all copy-paste the same posts over and over again . ok we know. you can simply turn down the volume .

You all seem to think that I hate pings... I still want to be able to USE the function.

Like chat... If someone's being 12, I can mute them..

Why can't I have the same for a ping sound??

You deal with it. It's an important function in League that has an anti-abuse system in place. You can handle some pings. Allowing them to be turned off would mean people would be both muting chat and pings when getting angry at each other.

You're not being spam pinged all game, every game. Very low incidence of this happening, so not worth implementing where it would do more harm than good.

Don't like ping sound, turn off the sound. But you need to see the ping on the minimap. For every one troll ping there is, there are thousands of good ones.

Oh? Im not?

Guess ill start taking snapshots now..

That's even better, muting pings should also allow us to remove their ping on the minimap completely!

Nahui1 votes

You're not.

Take snapshots, sure. Maybe you'll realize pings aren't the issue you make them out to be. And it's not just someone pinging MIA on their lane like 4 times, or spam pinging danger on you when they know something you don't, presumably a champion that's coming, and a ping and sound is a better way to warn you quickly than typing out what's going on and hoping you read it.

Your putting soo much effort into trying to make me seem wrong meanwhile were completely avoiding the fact that.

This is a simple toggle....

If someone on my team is already raging and won't listen to us in chat, they'll simply mute all sound right?

But what happens when he starts ping spamming us?

Am i just supposed to mute all sound too because one guys being childish while my other teammates are cooperating?

Na

Yes. Yes you are. You don't like the sound coming from the game, you shut it off. There's no effort going into making you "seem" wrong. It's just blatantly there. We need pings. You take pings out, you hurt the game. There needs to be a mode of communication forced onto every player that allows basic communication. Even if you're all spamming racial slurs and blatant toxicity, the person that decides to mute you must still finish the game with you, and it's unfair to take the competitive edge from one team because one player was too immature to avoid internet conflict and decided he needed to play in some safe-space, zen environment where even the slightest problem ticks him off.

That's you. That's you complaining that pings are a problem.

If you are legitimately getting ping-spammed all game, every game, that's more indicative that you're doing something wrong than anything else. I have had maybe 3 or 4 games in my entire League experience where anyone on my team , not just me, was getting ping-spammed. Yeah, you'll get an occasional double ? when you make a bad play or didn't call MIA or didn't follow up or something, but that's about it.

The times I've seen actual ping-spammed like you're talking about, the two players were actively aggravating each other in chat.

I think it is daily now, I don't think I've missed one. That said, I get that you don't like people ping-spamming you, but pings are an essential part of communication. Making it so you can just outright mute people is a system that would be too vulnerable to abuse. However, something like a system where the option to mute a player, after a set amount of pings occurred in a set amount of time, that I can get behind.

can be abused? how exactly do you abuse giving your self a disadvantage? sure there will be some idiots that will auto mute everyone like they do with /muteall now but that's their own fault.

TheHappyReaperz1 votes

You'd get groups of people queing together muting people, and people just muting people. If you could just mute pings, there would be no final line of communication you could use to talk with your team. And, even if people just auto-mute, that may be their fault, but they are still hurting your chances of winning.
