Is there some type of bell curve to the matchmaking algorithm?

That's to say, if a player does particularly well in a game or so, are they intentionally matched up with a disadvantaged team? I can't say out of the last 100 games I've noticed people trolling or intentionally feeding on either side, but I can say that some games run very smooth, and then shortly after, a few games or so run very poorly. And it seems that when a game goes poorly, one team does very well and the other pretty bad. Rarely does a game feel neck-and-neck until the end. It seems like I can go on a solid win streak, then hit numerous games in a row where you just want to ff10 because they're going that poorly.

Just wondering.
