Trying to Quit

Going to try to quit playing this game again today. It's frustrating, and I do think devs are responsible, not naturally the playerbase.

There is a thing called the Meta game. The game around the game so to speak. The reason we used to have a fighter on top, a mage at mid, a gunner and support at bot, was because that was the best way statistically to win summoner's rift. Clean fight stuff. These roles weren't set in stone, they were repeated over and over until set in stone because they were ideal.

Overwhelmingly new changes to the game are to try and enforce a strict 'vision of the meta.' now. This is the not the same as making sure champs are balanced. They are constantly playing balance games with the roles, and it harms the game. The best visual analogy is imagine you have five different shaped wholes. Five. Then Riot tries to make sure 100s of odd shaped champions fit into each of these holes properly. It stagnates non meta gameplay, and clearly becomes unmanageable eventually.

I play jg a lot, so the examples I would use are the following: The jungle item and smite. You can't even buy a jg item unless you equip smite. Before, you would take smite becuase it was efficient for jg, now you take it literally because you have to. You have to take the jg item by the very same nature, they made sure you can't do jg without it because xp difference. The xp difference and item requirement is meta-meta if you will. Now they have to play all these balance games continually because the monsters are worth less, but not really-ish for jg players that have to spend more resources to do their jobs. Most jg players have to finsih their jg item before even choosing their own item. It's not fun. It's not healthy.

Bounties and extra gold rewards for killing people hasn't balanced games, it's made them more snowbally. The more money you put on the table in general, the more level differences there will always be Riot.

All these requirements to jam everyone into these tight slots feels restrictive, and being lower level then chosen lanes, or jg if that's the season, feels crummy. Winning all game and not even being able to defend under tower for 20 seconds because top champs grow like weeds is crazy. 'Late game' champs that can turn on at a certain level without having earned it somehow, why?

These things clearly won't change, so wish me luck in finding some real willpower and a better hobby guys. Done with this snowbally grindfest.

But without restictions you have out of meta picks that soon convert into unbalanced OP picks. Game basically needs complete rebuild if you want to unrestrict everything, rito cant afford something like that. Out of meta picks are fun I know but they are also dangerous for current state of the game, you could have even more balance problems with them allowed.

The reason everything you mentioned is broken is exactly because they attempt to manipulate meta game. If Neeko was balanced from a champion power standpoint instead of "Oh we expect Neeko to be here and use this" standpoint, she wouldn't have been broken in first place. You are arguing exactly my point.

Jungle changes? Again they are trying to manage that entire role instead of looking at champs that may have op kits. Now jg is two levels behind top and often mid by mid game, can't even defend a tower for twenty seconds.

Power creep that everyone complains about? Ridiculously noticeable because some champs will be two to five levels above other champs before late game(top lane). These huge level differences are because Riot keeps managing these roles, and literally can't do it right. Don't get me wrong, attempting to manage the meta game is a fool's errand.
