I hope that those Cassio changes ARE DEFINETLY NOT FINAL

I mean the passive is original, but it's not really exiting (it's decent to be able to buy another item isntead of boots and still have ms). But what about the rest? it's basically the same old cassiopeia expet the W (i like that)

But Q/E/R are described as the same. Her Q is okay, but again with this lifesteal bullshit on her E? again with the E spam?

Just get this poison mage what she deserve please...

Most current or retired (like myself) Cassiopeia players like the E spam and agree it's central to her gameplay.

The problem with her rework was not the focus on E, but the fact every single other ability had its damage extremely gutted.

She was perfectly fine before her rework, with both the poison and the E.

I think the w sounds a bit broke. It like what they did to veigar wall, but on steroids. You cant even flash out of it. Sounds super interesting. They did say they would nerf e's damage which isn't shown on the PBE notes.

i would hope they would just scrap her E entirely, nothin interesting and honestly, to me at least, doesn't seems in line with the poison mage thematic (same her ulti)

Cass has been challenging because her playerbase includes multiple groups of players with different wants. Some want a pure poison, nothing but DoTs approach. Others want the machine gun E playstyle. Still others want a mix between the two. With this update we're trying to make each group feel like their needs are being better met, even if the kit may not be exactly what they're after, rather than focusing on one playstyle at the expense of the others.

What they player base wants in addition to what has been said, is to be able to buy boots, however boots are only half as effective, since only 1 boot may be worn on the end of the tail. This would further extend to the additional effects from tier 2 boots. jk, this message is strictly for the lolz

I agree with the direction you're taking

You know what they say, fellow Cassiopeia players. A house divided cannot stand!

as long as maxing Q first feels satisfying to do and her wave clear is second only to ziggs, then I will be happy. :D

So you want a DPS mage to match the waveclear of a siege mage's entire kit with the use of a single ability?

Yeah that sounds balanced to me fam

cass originally was a siege mage before her rework. In fact, she was the go to siege mage before riot even made ziggs. Then ziggs came along, and Stashu saw that she was "stealing" from ziggs' identity when it was really the other way around.

EDIT: also, old cass had great wave clear, but it usually required her to use both her Q and W to get it. Not unlike zigg's Q + minefield combo

i know, and i udnerstand your point of view, but from this kit we saw in PBE at least, the only real big change is the W (and it good!!), but what about the rest? it's the same old cassio, maybe with some tuning here and there but at that point wouldn't be better for another mage to take her spot if you only drastically change 1 ability?

It's less "just DoT damage" and more "relevant DoT damage".

But if you're trying to mix the pure DoT and pure E approaches, then that's what we'll end up at, so it sounds good

Looking good so far.

TL;DR Cass mains in general will never all be amazed at a Cass rework because she has two styles of gameplay she can go towards.

Basically this

I still think y'all should go for the Player8 route.

Actually, the poison fraction is not only for DoT. They are for literally EVERYTHING that can be applied over time and that includes even cc, vision, etc.

It wouldn't be that problematic if Cassio wasn't defined as the opposite of Katarina in terms of assassination. Blades vs Poisons, two completly different styles. You simply have established her lore like that. She simply is NOT a mage. She's a poison user with magical capabilities due to the curse.

Ignoring that was exactly the thing the first rework failed TREMENDOUSLY. Better learn from that, Riot...

It can be a powerful effect, in some respects it's like a weaker silence though. Duration is longer, it only affects mobility spells though and can be walked out of with no linger (effect ends immediately as soon as you leave the zone).

Oh, that makes sense. Sounds pretty balanced to me.

Do you think that Grounding might make it's way on future champions or reworks?

It's a great new mechanic that many mages should have reworked into their kits. It's the perfect anti-assassin debuff which, with this meta, is what the game desperately needs.

Those opposed to assassins having more innate counter play are assassin mains wanting to continue their stomping of mid lane against mages with little effort.

The biggest problem was that Q and W, you threw out willy nilly because there's was no benefit to holding on to them, outside of to spam E. Now there's a reason to hold onto at least one ability.

It's most certainly a step in the right direction so far. The passive is way too interesting to be able to gauge on paper with no numbers, so there's no viable way to judge whether it will be good or not. But its without a doubt, much better than a passive that was extremely gated.

The cooldown timers are a bit more making her a burst mage rather then DPS

ok, i'm tired of everyone begging so much for a pure poison mage. I don't play cassiopeia because of the state she is in now. I haven't even bought her because of it. But i actually enjoy the machine gun E nonsense that she is (as well as the poison)

Something happened to her when she got reworked that ruined her and i can't even place my finger on it. But i do know that both the machine gun E and the poison are both of what made cass entertaining the few times I did play her.

Elewd1 votes

cassiopeia isn't a "poison" mage, shes cassiopeia, the cursed woman with a snake body who uses her new powers to do her own dirty work, Snakes bite people, not all snakes are venomous, and the twinfang spam thing has been cassiopeia's thing since release, riots just nerfed it and reworked it 20 times.
