he has no counter play and he is safest pick you can have.

give him longer cooldown or less shield generation from his abilities. or god forbid give actually giving him mana...

If he gets CC and mobility in exchange then sure. Would be broken as hell then.

"Safest?" Sure, in the laning phase, but past that he needs to work his balls off to stay relevant, or at least count on the other team being stupid enough to let him split push a lane.

His whole mechanics rely on auto-pushing lane to keep his shield up, and with no mobility, he is VERY susceptible to getting ganked. He also doesn't contribute a lot to teamfights other than a weak AOE damage shield, and again his survivability comes from his shield.

Counterplay: Attack him while he doesn't have your creeps around to give him oodles of shield. Build MR. CC him. Burst him down. Call in the jungler early when he pushes lane to try to keep his shield up.

Counterpicks: RIVEN. Vlad. Anyone with strong bursting and kiting, though be careful not to underestimate his damage or his durability.

If you know what to do, Morde tends to be one of the easiest champs in the game to counterpick/play against, but most people don't bother to think about how to play against him and he therefore has a lot of success against them.

Riven and Vlad don't counter Mordekaiser, lol.

If you want to counter Mord, use Malzahar, Swain, or Cho.

I agree. Riven and Vlad are essentially free wins if the enemy tries to use them as a counter pick. I generally have trouble against a Cassiopeia and sometimes an Orianna.
