Get Rid of Mejai's and Sword of the Occult

Why are item 3041 and item 3141 still be allowed in the game? No one uses them hardly at all. The only time they are used are by noobs and by cocky players in bot games. The boost they provide at 20 stacks leans a bit on the op side and they are completely useless if you keep dying. I don't see any benefit they can provide to the game, teams, or players. As far as I can tell, they're just a poor excuse for some players to show off or act cocky.

With the free 5 stacks, I think they are pretty good as long as you aren't the type that loves to dive for no reason. I mean, I play Fiddles and can count on getting to 10 stacks pretty quickly. From there, if my team isn't loosing hard, getting 20 stacks isn't that bad. Once you hit like 13, it is more AP that Zhonyas/Deathfire...so that's pretty good.

These are meant to be 'snowball' items that a character can pick up if he/she's got some early gold and feels like taking a gamble that he/she can continue their kill streak for an early victory. The initial cost isn't that much for an early pick up (they now come pre-stacked) and if the team can keep the kills going then the game will probably be over before the other team could purchase a more expensive item. It also separates the good players from the cocky ones. Or maybe just punishes good players for cockiness. I've got full stacks? Crap, i just overextended and given the other team a chance to come back because of the extra gold for ending my killstreak.

Just my opinion as a new player. I don't personally pick them up (i like the new devour jungle item but i hear it's getting nerfed.)

Personally, I am fine with them. They are not game-breaking because even 20 stacks do not make it a viable late-game item. I'm also fine with a bit of snowballing in game.

However, what I find ridiculous is that Riot always says they want to reduce snowball effects, but these evidently snowball-enlarging items are not removed. Riot is controdicting themselves.

If they remove it, what else would I build to win Co-op vs AI in 10mins?

I build Mejai's regularly if I'm ahead. -shrug-

Say I'm going 3-0 in lane pre-15 minutes. Along with CS, I can either buy Mejais or I can finish Lichbane or maybe Rabadons even or whatever. If I can turn my level advantage into enough of a driving force, I can snowball and get my Mejai's stacking and I can finish before late game where I WILL die eventually, and thanks to the recent changes this is even moreso the case, easier to stack it but the penalty is much higher.

Occult I rarely buy, usually to mess around with friends and go AD Crit Naut or something stupid. But I wouldn't say no to building it seriously if I actually played any AD melee carries.

Frankly, they're viable purchases on snowball champions or anybody really with high AP/AD ratios, and there is plenty of counter play through focusing, ganking/camping, etc, to make their purchase more on the risk side than the reward side. It's not about being cocky, it's about being confident in being able to secure kills & assists to stack it safely and reliably, and finish the game before Lv. 18 where no matter how much AP you have, a 2-6-2 Yasuo can one shot you.

As for bot games, well, game isn't nor should it be balanced around bots, so uh, yeah.

why? mejais its my second buy on mordekaiser in a lane against fizz akali kat zed or talon. and sword of the occult is like my third buy on shaco if im doing my job right.

@L0reweaver @SexyTaylorSwift

Yeah, you're both correct. It's just that I don't see them at all in PvP. Yet when I go into a bot game, it's like after 2 or 3 games that I see someone with either (or God forbid, both) items on them. And most of the time it's the cocky showoff that probably doesn't even buy the item(s) in normals or ranked. So if they're really just sitting there not being used at all, why even buff them, let alone keep them?! I mean, if they're just going to be used by assholes, then just disable the items from bot games.

I am starting to see a lot of supports buy Mejai's

I think we need more items like them. Maby a hp item that gains stacks as well as Armor and MR? Hell they should ad a Armor Pent or Magic Pent item that gains pent per kill//assist.

I feel these items offer an off build fun aspect to the game
