What is the goal of a Jungler?

Title says it all, what is the goal of a Jungler? Is he primarily around to gank and be the team's bitch? Is he an objective oriented champion? Or is he simply there to make gold earning efficient? I don't know.

To make up for team shortcomings, emphasize on their successes, and contest objectives with smite.

First is to control objectives, particularly baron and dragon. Second is to have map awareness for the team. Third is to snowball laners who are doing well. Finally (and this is only if you are 4th or 5th pick) is you've got to fill holes in your team's comp.

That does include your towers and the opponents towers so ganking is typically essential to that goal. Although some champs will have to wait until 6.

A jungler has to change thier specific goals on the fly. Is top losing badly? Well they have choices they can turn up top to relieve pressure (to keep the turret standing not to win the lane for them) or perhaps Bot is doing well and they can gank that winning lane to get kills and snowball. Or they can gank mid and help to free them from the lane so they can help you gank top or bot or both at once.

gank a lot , farm fast , take objectives , and kill oponents as minions on the field

To add to this, a ," gank " isn't just getting a successfully kill it's also pressuring your opponent's to do stuff like fall back or even blow their flash. Scaring the opponent to make a mistake is just as good as getting a kill cause if they have no flash...they have no escape, unless it's a mobile champ ( riven, zed, yasuo, leblanc ) just to name a few, they're harder to gank.

Goal of a jungler is to provide better team gold by using the maps resources efficiently and provide map pressure when needed. By ganking, pushing objectives and providing vision to help laners
