New role idea: commander/shotcaller

The basic idea is that there's a 6th role for someone who's job would be to specifically help and communicate to your team to win games with less biased macro calls and ideas/strategies.

How it works: i dont believe this should just be another role you can choose in solo/duo (because everyone would use this to rank up and then try to play their role at an elo they arent competitive in) but rather a seperate queue with its own ladder. It would be its own placement and ladder away from your solo/duo mmr but would be attached to soloQ games. For example, lets say you get placed in silver for this you start a seperate queue to play this role and it would match you with a team of soloQ silver players. As your commander/shotcaller rank increases you get placed to help teams of the same mmr in soloQ as your commander/shotcaller mmr.

Reason: many people are very smart but have little to no macro knowledge, and this should be rewarded. I also believe with soon time that it would improve quality of games and help players grow/learn faster. This idea is a wip but i thought id like to share it and see what others think.

I don't like this, just because when you're paired with randoms, you don't know their strengths as players. What if you have a jungler who's got an amazing knack for jungle invades and aggressive moves, but you don't know that so keep trying to lead him to gank lanes normally. What if your mid laner is a one-trick on an uncommon champion, and as such understand their champ far, far better than you do, and as such your calls would be sub-optimal for them given your limited knowledge and experience.

I believe it would be interesting to have a 6th role that doesn't involve a champion but rather an extra set of eyes, way too many people get caught up in their tunnel vision and forget the little minimap in the corner, an extra set of eyes with the ability to ping and type useful things or even... assist slightly, by targeting enemy champions (who then get a nice targeting mark above their champion) plus they can elect to be a drop in drop out player, one that replaces a disconnect if that player is gone for say 2-3 minutes without reconnecting, yes a lot can happen but its better than having a 4v5 unless you lose two people

This doesn't work unless voice comm is enabled and so chances are players' ego triumphs over reason. Had a nami support afk because I said "lee sin in 2k17" after he went 1-6. No insult, just that comment and his ego refuses to play out the game.

Someone who doesn't actually play the game and instead just spams chat with opinions would not be a very popular role, much less popular than support.

The rare person who would be willing to do that role would probably be an insufferable armchair quarterback who doesn't actually know what they're talking about but would throw an epic fit if you disobeyed them. I'd probably mute them every game like I do with most shotcaller types I currently encounter.
