@Riot...League games now often feel decided off of the first mistake a team makes
Rather than a team being more knowledgeable or skilled mechanically, it often feels as if the team to make the first mistake usually loses. I don't believe that so many games should be decided completely off of how the early game played out. It should lead to an advantage, but there should be some sort of comeback mechanic, which doesn't feel present currently. Knowing how to play mid-late game well should be rewarded, but is rarely seen due to how the smallest things lead to the biggest consequences. And this does not only happen in solo queue, but in ranked as well. For reference, game 1 match 36 of lck, HLE vs KZ, trundle got one kill at around two and a half minutes due to unique pathing, but KZ was never able to contest a single objective for the rest of the game and slowly lost everything. I can never tell which team is favored anymore because winning off of something so small greatly decreases the skill gap between players and the games less enjoyable. No longer do I hear myself saying "wow, that play/setup/idea was really good," it's just "oh, they just snowballed off of ( ), maybe if the other team can turtle in base until 35min and win three teamfights in a row will they win, but probably not." If there was less benefit from kills, like reduced gold, but keeping shutdown gold similar, there would be less snowball, a reasonable comeback mechanic, and more emphasis on playing well rather than snowballing. Kills should be more of a luxury rather than a necessity.
