Is it really necessary...

Is it really necessary for every single displacement in the game to allow Yasuo to ult off it? It feels like you have to practically try to assemble a team where nobody else can hand him an ult.

I like where he's at right now, but I agree it's not what we were promised.

It makes for amazing plays, but annoying situations when against him.

I agree it should just be knock ups, knock backs and pulls shouldn't count.

Even though a lot of champions have displacement effects, there aren't actually that many that can set up huge yasuo ults. Like, Thresh Hook technically sets it up, but you're only gonna be ulting one dude, and that might not be worth it. Generally speaking, the abilities that you really want as Yasuo (fast, AoE displacement that lasts for a long time) are quite rare, and often have significant opportunity costs to using them (using Nami Ult aggressively makes you lose a lot of disengage potential, for example).

So, even though it's easy to have a team that can sorta set Yasuo up, it's a lot harder to build a team that's really ideal for him, and it often requires a specific playstyle to really use such a team to its full potential.
