Can someone explains this normals matchmaking to me?

I don't know why, but it's been like this nonstop for TWO WEEKS now. Some days I won't get a single reasonable match, and often times it'll even be worse than in that screenshot.

Just last game for instance... Gold 1, Gold 2, Silver 1, Silver 3, Silver 5. 2 people were plat last season. My team? Unranked, Unranked, Unranked, Silver 1, Bronze 2. Were any of us plat last season too? Nah, silver and unranked, all of us.

What. the. actual. fuck. Riot.

It'd be ok if it happened once in a while... but for some reason, like I said, IT HAS BEEN NON FUCKING STOP for almost 2 weeks now. And I don't mind going against golds, plats, even diamonds, personally, If it's just one per enemy team. But entire teams, and almost always full premades too, vs maybe one duo on ours. And never any higher elo players on our team to match it, ever.

Why is this even a thing in normals? Much less as often as it's been for the past 2 weeks? Did something suddenly change or what?

Easy: It's Normals

A lot of people playing ranked don't actually play normals often, so their normal MMR doesn't reflect their actual skill level anymore. On top of that, normals are the only place where a diamond player can play with their bronze/silver/gold friends.

Normal games have been like this for years. One game with my friends, we're up against all plat/diamond players, and the next we wind up against a team of golds.
