So, now that Riven's animation cancelling is officially sponsored by Riot...

Are there any plans to make it more obvious that animation cancelling exists to new prospective riven mains? If so, how would you go by doing this? put it on the tooltip passive or something? I'm just kinda curious on this

And like 40 other champions, all while Riven was at her strongest erasing champions in 0,01s and I just loved Ritos explanation "Alistar cannot aac because it makes him too strongto lane againt". At least his combo was nowhere near as deadly as Rivens with brutalizers

Bi-polarity to extremes I guess

I dont get it, like it increases skill cap on champions, why lower the skill cap on champions? Ppl already thought these champion were brain-dead but then the remove that aspect and actually make them brain-dead.

Lmao Alistair was broken OP, that's no comparison to post nerf Riven.

Yeah, I'm not sure how this thing works.

/R Rivenmains is a huge archive of information for new and old Riven players alike.

Usually aspiring riven mains will search for info about riven and they'll almost certainly stumble upon animation canceling. Also, through just playing they'll pick some stuff up, maybe not doublecasts and such. But the more basic things.

We don't even have a decent tutorial to explain the basics of what all the stats do, items, and builds. As long as the tutorial for new players involves Thornmail on Ashe I don't see Riot making in-client player resources anywhere near complex enough to explain animation canceling.

I'm guessing Riot is just taking the Dark Souls approach and letting shared knowledge among players teach people. The problem with that is Dark Souls is a single player game so you only screw yourself if you don't look up guides. League is a multiplayer competitive game so more in-depth, effective guides in the client where people can find it would be nice.

And that is the correct approach. Riot tutorials are useless because meta always changes - people NEED to learn how to get information on how to play the game. Riot can't have perfect + updates guides on everything.

Thornmail Ashe is the correct approach?

Sorry, but Riot still needs to teach at least the basics so people can go into their first games and not have dumpster-fire games. If the tutorials tell you to do something that will 100% cause you to lose the game, then they are terrible tutorials.

There is a WORLD of difference between telling the player what items to buy on what champions and just telling the player what items/stats even do. League's tutorial doesn't train people to find good information. It just gives bad information. A new player that goes through the tutorial then builds Thornmail Ashe in a real game and gets stomped isn't going to know which guides are good or bad. They won't know what they did wrong and won't know what to look for. This is why the vast majority of LoL players (keeping in mind the vast, vast majority of players are low Bronze and unranked) don't know how to build at all even after playing for years. Some people after playing for years still don't know proper last-hitting and lane management - because the guides they looked up were bad so they had no idea they were missing vital info.

Riot needs to either make proper tutorials on all important aspects of the game themselves or find the absolute best sources of player-generated tutorials and officially link to them in the client so everyone has access to good, correct info.

Yeah I think the current tutorial is just or should be just about moving and control stuff. Everything else has to be linked externally because everything else is just impactrical and short-sighted for already mentioned reasons.
