ARAM needs a swift kick in the code

If you speak of whats broken in League almost none of you would ever think of a game mode, I mean URF is a blast and that's broken. But when it comes to ARAM especially if you don't want to to spend 10mins under your tower as you can do nothing for the absurd amount poke and cc heading your way while your team is completely melee. There is no fun in these games and most of the game end this way, a one sided match. Is seriously time to do something about this. ARAM is just another word for waste of time, i don't need 15mins to tell me that this game is screwed with a 15 to 36 kill distribution.

hit your snowballs and aoe ults... btw tanks tend to win against poke teams. aram matches are really not as one-sided as you say.

Depends which melee champs you get and how much cc the enemy team has.

Well that is why he said tend to.

Obviously there will always be scenarios where one team comp just straight up counters and crushes another- which leads to the losers in that situation whining here or during the game about how unfair ARAM is and how Riot needs to fix it. Of course they are not complaining when they are in the RNG God's good favor and are the ones doing the crushing.

I got games both ways yesterday. Out of 3 or 4 there were 2 with full melee vs ranged. It's partially the free rotation's fault though. It's bad this week for ARAM balance. It was on my alt acc so I own like 3 champs; we got all the ranged free rotation, the other team the melee. The next game, pretty much the same champs but I ended up on the other team. Neither game was fun nor exciting.

Yeah. I believe the RNG slightly favors assigning free week champions both to discourage ARAM smurfing and to try and make it likely you have at least one other person you could trade it.

As you said this is a bad week for ARAM. Only 3 ranged (one of which, Ashe, basically everyone already has anyways), 3 assassins (probably the worse/most difficult class to play in ARAM if you are not experienced with champ), Riven who is mediocre at best in ARAM unless her team is stomping, and Taric which half the players use odd/awful builds on ARAM because they can't manage his mana correctly or just don't know how to play him.

Balance wise ARAM is in one of the best places it has ever been after the Juggernaut and ADC updates.

Poke teams are now no longer automatic wins.

Thanks to the ARAM patch, it's moved on to where the better late-game team wins. Unless the early game poke team is able to push in so fast that they end the game by 15 minutes. But it's tricky because the death timers are too short to get a meaningful push in off early picks. By 17 minutes in, the late game team is able to start hitting their power spikes and it's pretty much game over for the early game team unless the team with the better late game really screws something up.

ARAM is in the worst place it has been. Before the changes, there was a delicate balance where early game lasted long enough that early game comps could pull out a win if they didn't start screwing around, or make some major mistakes. But if a late game comp was able to hold on just long enough to get the momentum to their side, they could turn the game around and win.

Now more than ever, I can tell which team will win from champ select. There's really very little room for good strategic play to be able to pull out wins when you might have a somewhat inferior comp.

Wheres the " make more random option?" Problem with ARAM is ARAM accounts that ONLY have the best ARAM champs. needs to properly be random.

The only real way then is to make all champions available in ARAM.. and Riot is sorta against that, cause then it would cut into their profits when people make smurf accounts and buy RP to get the "good" champions to play ARAM. Not sure how many players do that, but I'm sure some do.

If they just make a fun no points version that did that I'd be fine. I play ARAM for fun not to be super competitive. I'm seeing waaaaaaaay too many wukongs in ARAM anymore to really enjoy it.

So, do we know if it's a bug yet that we can't earn keys if we don't own the random champ we get? It's frustrating the amount of dodges that happen due to that.

Didn't Riot already say they are looking into some small ways to make ARAM a bit less stompy? Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember reading something like that.
