Y'know, Riot, all you had to do with Kog in the Marksmen update was give him a new Passive

If you had just replaced his self-destruct with a Phantom Hit effect you could have gotten more or less the same result without dumpstering Kog and pissing off most of his player base by radically altering how you play him. It even would have been easy to tune. Too strong at every hit? Make it every other. Too strong at every other? Make it every third. So on and so forth.

At this point it has become pretty clear that the live balance team is either unable or unwilling to make a Kog that is both balanced and healthy. Roll Kog back to the 5.20 state, give him a new Passive that supports his long-range machine gun niche, and call it a day.

Every X hits, OnHit effects are applied twice.

Sated Devourer gives Phantom Hit 2 to melee champs and Phantom Hit 4 to ranged champs.

Kog's double attack speed effectively gives him Phantom Hit 1 with the downside of more or less rooting him if he wants to deal damage.

Well thank you for the support.

I'll admit that I don't mind the rework. Mostly because I've always been pretty flexible with how I play and build Kog. But this isn't just about me. This is about all the Kog players who enjoyed his WRSheen kiting play style and people who enjoyed AP Kog. They lost what they enjoyed for a turret champion.

Problem is, we've got a turret champion already. Except she's only a turret for 3 seconds at a time while doing comparable late game damage as Kog to the whole enemy team.

Who's that? only a turret for 3 seconds?

Wat? I don't follow. Her ult is not really comparable to turrets at all.

By a turret Marksmen, I mean a champion that roots themselves in place and then does a whole lot of damage from really long range.

MF Ult roots her in place and then does a whole lot of damage from really long range.

For MF it lasts 3 seconds. For Kog it lasts 6. Kog's has a better cooldown, but MF's has far more impact on a battle especially if it is paired with any lockdown CC. Once MF's Ult is over she has her Q and attack speed buff to continue being a threat. When Kog's W is down he's got his execute Ult and the ability to proc his Passive if he moves into auto-range.
