I played the game as best I could and didn't cry or have nightmares. Wanna know why? Cause I know how to play at least 1 champ in every role, like any actual player (barring new people) should know how to do.
Yes, I understand that auto fill sucks when you're only wanting to play your primary and secondary roles, but even so, the amount of over-the-top, butthurt moaning this board has is insane.
I was autofilled ADC for my first solo q match of the season(I primarily top, secondary mid) so I ask kindly if j can switch with anyone and they said no. Fine
I pick MF, just recently I got her and played a few normal games to get to know her kit(really fun btw) and I get paired with a level 7 nautilus support against a Draven and a Leona(?)
Match starts, I go to lane, and try last hitting. Doesn't go to well, I die I think twice to the Draven and team starts to flame me. Calls me "useless", "trash", the usual shit. So then Nautilus leaves me to 1v2.
I got annoyed by that but I kept my cool, since I was left to 1v2 I had to think what I could do to turn this situation around. I buy a Rannuins Hurricane(for waveclear) then got a ghostblade. I then fall back to tier 2 tower to try to farm then I saw a gank coming so I go straight to mid to attempt a bait, I die but my team got 2-3 kills out of it. I then group up top with our Nasus to take a tower, then mid to take another.
We then pushed mid and won. I did shit, I know but I didn't flame my team and try to work with them in tower taking. I ended the game with I think with around 70cs.
Hell, I dont know if what I did was right but I had to try something.
I'm sure you absolutely love having an autofilled support on your team trolling in your promos. Right?
The only position I dread autofilling into is jungle, Because I lack confidence in the general go around and strategy in the jungle right now. I got put into it recently, just got lucky and got super fed as kayle.
i mean shit just choose FILL one time and have auto fill "protection" and get your main the next game
If you autofill, you aren't being put into your optimal roles, meaning it will automatically increase the chances of losing, even in champ select. This is increased even more for each person that's autofilled on the team.
Most people can play one champ in any more, it's just that they don't want to have less of an impact on the game.
In every game, you want to optimize the amount of influence you have on the game. Playing a off-role decreases that.
And yeah, it's also boring, less fun, etc.
I am curious about why do support mains feel the urge to downvote everyone that says the role is boring? Literally Riots statistics prove it's the least played role and that it has the least people who find it enjoyable, that's literally the reason autofill exists.
It's nice and dandy, but I absolutely can't play bot lane. Not because I can't due to lacking knowledge, mechanical skill or otherwise.
It's because whenever I come out of lane with upper hand or not, is almost exclusively decided by the other guy and believe me when I say, most of the time the other guy is complete garbage, that'd be better off AFK and myself left in a 1v2.
This may sound toxic or hostile, but I've actually won 1v2 lanes, unlike 2v2 lanes where the other guy makes idiotic plays and blames it on me.
its not that we cant play more than one role. In fact right now my highest win rate role right now is support. Its the fact that support is really really really boring.
Auto fill just makes people remember what elo hell is, and I get it but I don't think it's the biggest deal. They all want to climb back to where they were last season and for a low silver to get out of bronze it takes a while since they can not carry many games and the chance of carrying goes down when people are autofilled.
As mentioned earlier by someone the games will even out eventually after many games people just want instant gratification, imo this is no different than what riot has implemented in terms of making teams over the years. The grind is real it always has been, I don't see why so many people are in such a fuss about it.

I'm a mid/jungler main. When I get auto-filled to support....I just think, "Sweet, stress-free game." Support requires a lot skill and thought, but the fact that I don't have to last hit, gives me a break for one game. If we lose, I rarely feel it was my fault (because at the end of a loss, you want to justify why your teammates were to blame). I warded properly, pinged MIAs for all lanes, and setup ganks.
If I had a dollar everytime someone in my lobby said "Autofilled to Support, can I switch? I can't support" I'd be able to buy Riot Games.
Learn how to supp, it's like community service.

ive been auto filled maybe 4 times in over 100 games. I'm ok with it.
I want to climb. I don't play ADC and mid because I am a bad adc and mid. Yes, I know 1-2 or champions for mid or ADC, but that doesn't mean I will enjoy if I get autofilled there (autofilled into mid 4 times since preseason).
When I get autofilled into support, I just say something like "Oh Rito" in chat and proceed to play as normal. Support is my 3rd preferred role anyway because like you said, moaning doesn't change anything.
But ye, saying that you should know ever role is stupid. Especially with the new champ select.
90% of the time I lose playing support. Why? I dont play support other than that 1 out of 10 games where I end up getting autofilled to play it and nobody on my team wants to swap me roles. Its not really me thats the problem, its the fact that bot lane always gets that 4v2 even when I ward they just dive bot tower. And beens i main mid/jungle/top, I could get down there to help easily, but nobody on my team does it in low elo. Also my adcs play too passive, I have to get the enemy to a straight up one shot before my adc starts to harass her.
Its also very hard to carry as a support. Even if you roam 24/7, most of the time the team mate you gank will just sit under tower farming while you hooked the enemy top laner or something.
what is this?, logic, reasonable and not rito hate?.
