Galio Things

Just a few things that could help Galio feel more rewarding to play

  • Heal on shield directed to the shielded, instead of always Galio.
  • Shield work with Ardent Censor
  • E have a knock aside effect
  • While using Idol, lifesteal effects against Galio are negated (hydra lifesteal would still work against minions or other champions)
  • Passive include building ap increases mr (on top of mr increasing ap)

Not saying all of these things need to happen, but right now Galio kind of struggles with a few things. Having Idol be irreducible by tenacity was a step in the right direction, but I dunno. I feel like he could still use a few tweaks to make him a bit more interesting to play outside of flash ulting.

I've wanted the cast time on his E removed or the ability to be castable while moving. It would be a small change that might make his ult initiation not require flash or mark/dash most of the time.

I've stopped taking flash on Galio. I usually just run ghost/exhaust or ghost/smite if jungling.

They could do a bunch of interesting things with Righteous Gust. Removing the cast time is just one of them. I just feel like compared to amumu or rammus, his "moments" don't feel as satisfying. Like bandage tossing into a team and ulting 3-5 people, or running straight in the team with a powerball and taunting the adc or w/e. Removing the cast time would definitely help Galio (would help him hit a lot more skillshots too), but as far as meaningful moments outside of using an ult well, I don't think it quite exists.

Like... I like Galio. I really do. For one of those really old champions that hardly gets any use, I think he deserves some meaningful attention.

Galio is actually a pretty solid champion right now. I do like one of your ideas though. If he shielded someone else, the heal should be split between them. That would help him be a good support bottom lane as well.
