The lore says that Lux can immitate spells she sees being cast so isn't she supposed to have an ability similar to Zoe's W ? Also, in the lore it is mentioned that she can also "hide" in the light. Is her W supposed to allow her to become stealthed, invisible or obscurred ?

She is a Mary Sue in the lore, good thing the gameplay doesn't reflect it.

Look at Malzahar lore vs ingame. He is a Seer without vision, a summoner of terrifying void monsters that are terrorizing the world yet die to a pokey stick, leader of a cult without followers, able to open portals yet immobile.
Sadly the lore and the in-game don't match up.
fun fact, her original w was supposed to stealth her and allies hit by the boomerang for a short duration.
they scrapped the ability because they couldnt get rid of the bugs that came with it.
it was back when riot wouldnt just push out a new champ release until they could make the champion work as they intended. they had a strict two week release schedule back then, and since the ability didnt work as they wanted, they replaced it with a shield to still make the deadline.
her q and e are spells that she copied on the fly from morgana, after seeing her cast dark binding and tormented soil.
