Wait duo boosting is actually allowed???
I thought I saw comment in some Riot article saying that smurfing is allowed and so someone could duo smurf with someone else to boost them, and it isn't against the rules. Are they serious?

Boosting only refers to someone else playing on your account. Anything not that is not boosting.

its the sad truth and happens very often. I main a PLat 5 account, yet the majority of my friends are silver. In order for me to play with them I had to create another account (smurf). This way I can play rank with them. Yes I truly believe this mechanism is flawed, broken and shouldnt be allowed, but this season Rito heavy emphasizes on team/duo plays. As you can see with the implemented dynamic queue and current icons. Its not fair at all. But you see this in all levels. You will see diamond smurfs in gold and in plat. Its a very gray area. I have seen so many plat 5 players with 43% win rates, clearly indicating that they were boosted.
"Boosting" is only officially a term that is used when someone else is playing on the account that isn't the owner. Queuing with people that are higher elo that happen to be smurfing is fine as they are all playing on their own accounts.

Which, if it's only with one smurf, is called "duo boosting."
No. That's only if they went to a site and paid for it, but you have no way of knowing (neither does riot unfortunately), thus in the end it's not against the ToS for the game and they are perfectly fine.
Cause again Riot only looks at Elo Boosting as someone other then the owner of the account doing the ranking for them.

I've had lots of people asking me to smurf while duoing with them and they call it duo boosting, I'm taking the word of 20 people over one guy.
It's still just them being carried in a duo is all that is. Riot will only go after people if they are using someone elses accounts.
where did u read?
dynamic queue is great, isn't it? : ^)
This is not a Dynamic queue problem he said duo
Dynamic Queue took what he posted about, and basically said "hey, now 4 people can help ya out instead of just 1"
so ya, he was talking about duo but I was talking about the actual problem on a larger scale
